Apple TV+ worth it?

We have all the other streaming services but my OH despises Apple as a brand so he's reluctant to try it, I only want it at the minute for The Morning Show, just wondered if there is much on there as it's relatively new.

We signed up yesterday as we wanted to watch Long Way Up to pass away our Covid isolation hours..........

It's a bitch of an app, and took me nearly an hour to sign up and getting it working via the Sky Q App...... so we'll be cancelling at the end of 7 days for that reason alone!! It kept looping round and telling me to enter codes....... didn't help my headache one bit.

Will be honest and say I've not really looked at much else on there.

I've just signed up as 3 months free with my phone. Only watched the morning show so far.
I'm finding it awkward to find things, like the early days of Netflix.

I have it as had a free year included when I got my MacBook.

Best shows are:

  • Ted Lasso (so funny!)
  • Invasion (just finished this and loved it!)
  • Foundation (kind of like Star Wars and watching it at the moment and enjoying it)
  • Morning Show (the one with Jennifer Anniston - watched S1 and need to get on with next series)

I'd say it's worth it.

I also have NowTV and there's so much on there in my to-watch-list too

I have it free with my phone contract. I don’t think I’d pay for it long term as there really isn’t that much on there. The Morning Show is good and Ted Lasso is excellent. It’s annoying as it looks like there’s more on there than there actually is, but you have to pay extra for certain things or it takes you to a different platform.

No, i wouldn’t recommend it.
Only have watched Ted Lasso and morning show (didn’t enjoy last season, doubt I’ll watch the next)

Much prefer Now TV

Got it free with an apple purchase, and the one thing I've hugely enjoyed on it is Trying. Such a lovely programme. But won't be extending the membership when it runs out. Too much of it you have to pay extra for!

H he ad a year free with Apple. I got bored of the morning show. Physical was great.

2 kids shoes we absolutely loved though. Amazing Stories - like twilight zone but more warm and fuzzy and ghost writer - really reminded me of look and read my kids adored it they are 9 and 12. It was fabulous and promoted loads of books the dds were really interested in.

Didn't subscribe though not enough content

It's a bit glitchy. Reasonable content I'd say. The creepy thing with the (dolll) baby was good. But we all have different taste. I do like The Morning show and my DH loved Ted Lasso.

if anyone can remind me how to switch on subtitles, I'd be grateful.

I love Apple TV. Not tons to watch but everything v high quality. Ted Lasso is just the best thing ever. Obviously The TMS plus I’d recommend Defending Jacob, Physical, Acapulco, for all mankind and Servant.

I had a year free with my new phone but cancelled it after a couple of weeks anyway. I couldn't actually find any free content on there, everything I tried to watch just linked through to another platform which was free anyway, or had a charge.

I got it free for a year with my iPad. As others have said, Ted Lasso is excellent (btw, there’s a wee animated Christmas special currently showing). I also loved both seasons of See starring Jason Momoa. Invasion, Foundation, The Morning Show - if I never saw another episode of any of those three I really wouldn’t be bothered. I’ve also watched a few Charlie Brown shorts.
Bottom line for me, I won’t be paying for it once my free time is finished.

Ted Lasso is phenomenal - best show on TV.

Trying is also brilliant (funny and poignant) and The Morning Show is great.

Not watched anything else on it but those 3 shows are definitely worth watching!

SpamIAm has reminded me exactly why I never watched anything. I found a few things I thought I’d like to watch and then it wanted payment.

No, awful. Difficult to see what’s free and what’s payable. Very few shows that are worth it and no films I can think of.

I had Apple TV for a while when it was free with a purchase. When I started to pay I cancelled it as we pay for 3 others already. I’ve just bought a new iPhone from Apple but no mention of a free subscription this time . Disappointed as I was enjoying smiggadoon , Morning Show and Trying . Also watched long way Up . All good shows.

It’s worth getting it for 3 or 4 months a year, but arching what you want them cancelling and doing the same again the following year. We do that aww prem we’re to January.

The Morning Show
Ted Lasso
Foundation
Invasion
Defending Jacob

There are a couple of good Tom Hank’s films on there too, one about a naval ship in WWII which is taut and tense and excellent and another post-apocalyptic one with a few obit and a dog which is both funny and heartbreaking.

Got it free with my phone for year but I won't be paying when it's run out. There's not enough stuff on it to justify the cost although what there is is top notch, production wise if nothing else.

The only stuff I've really enjoyed though is Ted Lasso and The Shrink Next door.

I'd suggest waiting til all the episodes of what you want to watch are out, subscribing for a month, binge watching them, then cancelling. It's what I'm going to do when the next series of Ted Lasso is out.
