So there was a blink and you miss it scene last night when Jacob told Dawn he'd have to get someone in to help with the shop in David's absence. Tabloids are saying that Emmerdale are finally addressing the disappearance of David and Victoria after a "row with another cast member". All I can say is it must have been an almighty row for 2 main characters to be suspended indefinitely resulting in a load of shitty rewriting.
