These threads are usually my go-to safe, happy place where I can whittle on without being judged --too much.. I liked Tilly. She came across really well throughout the series.
I wouldn't even have minded had she been put through because her chemistry with Nikita has been better than Rhys and Nancy.
Voted my top three yesterday so not responsible for Dan going through, but nor do I resent him, given the lovely rapport him and Nad have. Dreading the vibe on these threads if he puts out a frontrunner though.
Bottom line, it's just a show. Cattiness isn't a great look. Tilly was/is a lovely young lady.
Yes, her Dad is rich enough but Tilly, herself, has just lost out on 20k by a week. (Slebs get 60k for making it to the quarter-finals). I think she deserved to be there more than Dan but there we go.

Gordon’s actually quite a nice chap. I saw a video recently where a young fast-food worker got eliminated from a competition that Gordon was judging, and he said he would pay for him to go to culinary school, and look after his family while we was studying, as they’d been dependent on the lad’s wages.
I like Tilly too, she’s been lovely all the way through and she’s also got great legs! Next week’s DO really should be Rhys and Dan but I guess we’ll see where Tilly’s supporters move their votes to…

My kids used to watch Tilly's CBBC cooking show and they love watching old Gordon Ramsay youtube clips and they definitely contributed to their love of cooking and good food. Leave Tilly TF alone. I wanted Rhys to go through but she improved every week as a dancer, worked hard and obviously has a lot of character.

I can't believe some of the comments about the contestants on here. It's just a tv entertainment programme. Why such nastiness about anyone?

I know who I'd like to go out and who I'd like to win eventually. But it's just a game show. It doesn't really matter.

There are plenty of people on TV (and in film and journalism) who would not be there were it not for their famous parents

That’s absolutely true - Claudia Winkleman being one. The difference is that Claudia is funny and clever and watchable, so I don’t mind.

For research purposes only, I’ve watched it again. Tilly undid the button accidentally when she was dancing behind him. He took it off on purpose and she started laughing so possibly not expecting it.

I don’t get all the hate, she’s seems lovely young woman. She can’t help who her dad is.
If my child was on Strictly I’d be way more embarrassing than he was.

He tried to throw it and it was caught on a thread. That was hilarious!!

I actually like Gordon Ramsey. He's an exceptional chef and has genuine talent. The crying was a bit OTT but it's nice when 'hard' men show emotion.

I love Gordon Ramsey! I think he's really funny and nice! If you ever see him on TV with children he is so gentle and kind. It is adorable. He does tell people to fuck off etc on his shows but really he is trying to help and they're always total arseholes, half the time I'm screaming at them in my head too.

Anyway, I loved Tilly and Nikitas dance just then, I feel like Niki decided to be silly and make Tilly laugh to enjoy what he knew would probably be their final dance and her reaction was really sweet. What a lovely couple they were.

Speaking of lovely couples, does anyone feel like they're intruding on a private moment watching Gio and Rose? Like you have AJ and Kai who are supposedly a couple standing together like mates and then these two who are supposedly not a couple but they're incredibly in sync and the chemistry is palpable. Maybe it's the Joey Tribbiani theory that you know two people are together if there's no heat!

I know Dan isn't technically the best dancer but I am enjoying watching him and Nadiya obviously having a great time, and clearly there are a lot of people voting for them - which is people's right to do if they wish. I really think those spouting all the anti-Dan vitriol (e.g. "FFS how is he still here?" ) and getting so annoyed need to get a grip. It's a light entertainment show, not the Olympics. He's not going to actually win it (Rose is, even though I'd prefer AJ, but I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram over it).

They do a lot of social media and are obviously having a blast. (I enjoy their "Yorkshire Barmaid" videos). Shame that their experience is being tainted by haters.

The difference is that Claudia is funny and clever and watchable, so I don’t mind.

She's also more than twice the age of Tilly with all the experience that comes with that.

Just caught up on iPlayer. Tough call tonight. Tilly seems like a smashing girl, I'd be really proud of her if I were her parents (and I mean much more the dancing).

Can't stand GR, but that's not the point here.

Next week will be interesting. I hope that Dan doesn't keep getting the popularity vote as clearly he isn't as good as the other contestants.

I agree that Rhys is so done with this show and I don't blame him. He works his socks off every week and is such a good dancer but its clearly not enough. I'd be like 'fuck you alllllllll!!!!!'

Great response! They're just rising above it.

I feel sorry for Tilly having the samba as it's a dreadful dance for most celebrities to get to grips with. Tilly definitely grew on me over the weeks. However, I think the continued over marking by the judges of Tilly week by week has kept her in longer than she should have been.

Yes, same here, so sickly & fawning all over the celebs & pros, with baby speak. Think Strictly could do with some genuine & cheaper presenters, Lizzie Greenwood Hughes who presents BBC 1 sports on Saturdays and possible her colleague Karthi, fresh faces and fresh approach.

I thought the week Zoe stood in for Tess showed what it could be, but no-one in management is going to sack off Tess I think

@GreenLunchBox I think it was caught up on his mic - the mic wire is on the shirt and attached to a battery/broadcast pack on the back of his trousers so he couldn’t drop the shirt without detaching the mic first.

The dance off and dancing shirt have made my day. Best call back ever (The old joke of Gordon scolding an open shirt twice).
Said shirt catching on a wire and doing its own routine was fab-u-lous.
Good on Tilly for not catching her heel in it.
