If she was well off and no kids could understand but she isn’t and has her own son to bring up. A bright child like pearl would most likely do v well. If Raymond is middle of road she be better sending him go private school to improve his life chances as a young black man. Hard to believe both are on the cards or maybe hoping the Oxford genes have been passed onto him too!

Considering hardly anyone goes in the salon, I'm amazed they can afford the high school fees.
Plus where are Pearl and mika? Surely we could see her doing a Mensa puzzle or something.

It's not just the fees either

I remember seeing a list for Prince George for his school in 'the sun ' ; the Polo pony and accessories was a huge expense !!

God I had to turn off when them EDL lads confronted Keegan. It was awful. I’m not sure I can watch now until Aaron is gine

Oh god I remember Denise’s GCSE storyline! It was so, so dull. I remember a scene where she was saying goodbye to Raymond before he was adopted and one of the things she said was “I’m doing this so I can get my GCSE”

They even had a really dramatic scene of her going into the exam room and opening the paper

Didn’t Dee spend whole time in dead end jobs and the shop that’s why when she lost job/became carer she was stuck? I’m not sure which point she became trained hairdresser. You have to do some studying surely I mean you could get a way with cutting but sure colouring and the like you have to be trained given harm you can do.

We all expected her to go on and do A levels or an access course shame nothing came of it.

Phil seems to have taken up resident in a shed somewhere and I don’t blame him.

Well, the salon with it's one customer a day and Lola as the main employee is now up there with the Toni and Guy chain of shops in terms of turnover it seems!
It's good to see woman succeeding in business , but a tad unbelievable!

@SoupDragon I think there are some types of breast cancer where the first indication can be an intensely itchy breast, but Stuart's rash was way above that area.

Either way, scholarships rarely cover the cost of the full school fees. They are talent/ability based. It would be a bursary that would pay up to the whole 100% amount 🤦

I'm confused as to how the school has sent a letter about the scholarship. Has Dee paid the fees in advance? I don't expect she has considered uniform, PE kit, travel....

She must have paid a term's fees upfront. Or the letter is a fake that Dee typed up herself?

@Meredusoleil I wondered if Dee had forged the letter but it looked as though it was on headed paper, and her GCSE wasn't in computing

Jack said something to Denise about not ever letting on about it to Kim so he must know what it is too.

However she's wangled it with the school, Denise is definitely the one funding the scholarship on behalf of the school. What kind of independent school it is that would accept that kind of 'arrangement' is another discussion altogether imho!
