@Akire and then dumping Bertie on whoever comes to hand !

Roussette · 16/11/2021 20:57

Thx Akire. I knew about the fire then missed that bit

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 16/11/2021 20:59

The cheek of Daniel! Been on one date with Daisy and asks her to babysit.

Akire · 16/11/2021 21:08

She has been round there few times and she stayed a few days when She was thrown out after Jonny died.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 16/11/2021 21:14

Oh I know but still a bit cheeky to just land him on her. I wouldn’t be keen on doing childcare for anyone I know except my sisters (just about!)

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 16/11/2021 21:16

@MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry

I think that woman used to be in emmerdale with darker hair. Had a baby with Jai.
Of course! I knew I knew her but she looks different with the hair and makeup - her voice was really familiar though.
Akire · 16/11/2021 21:18

Maybe she fancied day off from standing behind the bar and pulling a face holding a tea towel Grin

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 16/11/2021 21:18

Ha. She doesn’t do too much does she

BuggerOrfDeary · 16/11/2021 21:22

I thought the same about the locks @MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry, also wouldnt vulnerable young adults either be separated/not mixed sex or heavily supervised ?

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 16/11/2021 21:43

Why did David ask Summer to tutor Max at lunchtime? Don't kids these days only get about 20 minutes for lunch?

ItsLittoralViolins · 16/11/2021 22:04

@BuggerOrfDeary

This is what I don't get.

She's only 16 and a half, and still at school. She wouldn't be dumped in that kind of accommodation that's for 18 year old school leavers and care leavers. She'd be somewhere with (a) segregation, and (b) direct live-in social worker supervision.

And did I hear her say something about a probation officer visiting? Or was that Cole?

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 16/11/2021 22:28

And presumably anyone can just come in off the street like Aadi and Imran.

Mollypolly2610 · 16/11/2021 22:57

And where is Todd and Eileen?

Is there no follow up story about all the holes in the street?
Have they all just filled in?

I’m finding it all to confusing that the stories just get forgotten and move onto so something else.

eggandonion · 16/11/2021 23:32

At least Johnny's funeral is being sorted, although goodness knows what relatives with attend. Poor chef Robert is still not buried.

videovixen · 17/11/2021 07:12

@BuggerOrfDeary @ItsLittoralViolins
Temporary accommodation including hostels don't work like that at all. There's no need for separation of the sexes or anything like that (this isn't prison😂)

Anyone 16+ can be put in a hostel due to homelessness. They also wouldn't be 'heavily supervised,' it's not a mother and baby unit. There'll just be people at reception to monitor the sign in sheet etc but that's about it.

As for the locks on the doors, there absolutely should be locks at the very least. Not sure what that one's about!

Roussette · 17/11/2021 07:26

They should do a double funeral!

Come on Corrie writers, prove to us yet again you're reading this thread!

BuggerOrfDeary · 17/11/2021 07:31

@videovixen I posed that question as there were no locks on the door and they are vulnerable young adults

videovixen · 17/11/2021 08:24

@BuggerOrfDeary unfortunately in places like this there's no care of them being vulnerable young adults or not. They just have to get on with it. At the very least there should be locks on the door though

FeltCarrot · 17/11/2021 09:21

The ever expanding Rovers back room.😮
And I’ve never noticed that extra room in Imrans flat either.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 17/11/2021 09:29

I didn't notice an extra room in Imran's flat. Shows how much attention I was paying!

BuggerOrfDeary · 17/11/2021 10:08

I did @FeltCarrot! Obviously making way for an extra person to live there

strugglingwithlife · 17/11/2021 10:33

I didn't notice much lol as I tend to zone out when watching, same with Emmerdale, finding them so boring lately. Enjoy classic Emmerdale and Corrie though

Akire · 17/11/2021 10:40

It’s not exactly showing fostering Realities. No conversation about Toyah having to ring up work and say can’t come in it’s half term or child is sick no stresses at all! Life just carries on as normal. Their flat is so depressing can we please move them why not Victoria court? Nick & Leanne must want to rent or sell it. Surely saved up enough for a deposits on house by now

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/11/2021 11:43

It annoyed me last night toyah coming out saying Elsie went to bed no problem, while dinner Is still cooking on the stove. I know some people have two dinners- kids and adults but this is a foster child- surely it is important to eat as a family? And toyahs not working, specifically because she is a foster carer so she doesn’t need to eat late because she’s back later from work. She should be eating with that little girl.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/11/2021 11:46

They never have people eating together at home anymore in Corrie. In classic you see the platts at breakfast, Natalie and Leanne in the back room of the pub having their morning cuppa, Vera serving Jack and Tyrone their dinner, Sally sorting the girls dinner. Modern Corrie everyone is always standing for all their scenes. Or in the speed Dahl or bistro. No one eats at home.
