Don’t know when it was filmed but it’s been up on YouTube for at least 4 years according to the dates on the comments.

I'm another one who adores that video.

I have a love/hate relationship with rumba. I was once given choreography I just couldn't do — I was physically capable (probably), but I just shrivelled with embarrassment! I love the look and technique though, and I'm lucky that my teacher was sympathetic. He gave us one that had steps that were considered dated/unfashionable, but we could dance well.

To be honest, ever since an early comp I did where a friend pointed out a couple that she said "looked like they were having sex against a wall", I've always been very worried about how I look doing a rumba!

That rumba is very sweet - the bigger bloke is my other half's size - he always wears much longer shirts though. I will send him that clip as he always insists men of a fuller figure cannot dance I won't tell him it's an ex champion

Totally agree about Flavia on CC. I was late to strictly so hadn’t a clue who she was as have never seen her dance before but I was really impressed by her. I actually paid attention rather than letting my mind wander and found myself interested in what she was explaining re footing, big steps meaning couldn’t get movement for Rhys etc. I found it really well done especially in contrasts to the others this year (eg Kevin) who seem to just give “yes they were great - they all trying so hard - etc” and worse talk about themselves and when they did that dance. She was a real breath of fresh air and would make a brilliant judge.

Flavia was great, for all the reasons already stated by pps. I always loved Karen Hardy aswell. Good critiquing and knowledge of all styles of dance and wasn't afraid to call out mistakes or things she thought were just bollocks!

Also shows that big blokes can be attractively lithe and slinky, too - men don't always need to be "snake hips" to be sexy!

Maybe its time for couples to be changed to dance partners?

Tonight's show really made me miss Ian Waite. It was good seeing (brief) clips of old dances but the presenting was like watching Timmy Mallett.

Glad people liked the video. I tried to find a competitive video of Michael Chapman dancing in his pomp, but could only find a few, what I’d call, Show Dance routines from the early 90s. Suffice to say he appears to be a very safe pair of hands!

Commenting on a young girl’s weight body by an older man is not acceptable in my book. Good for Tilly for calling it out.

The thing is there is often at least one couple in any given series who do end up getting involved so you can't blame people for speculating!

Pretty grim to "speculate" ie all over the national press when Adam has a partner and young child.
Good for him that he stood up for himself.
We didnt have this type of trash press involved previously , it always came out after the show finished.
