Leon cannot sing, he is often flat, out of tune and plays on the pathetic little boy thing to get votes - not that it would matter anyway as it is all FIXED!!!!

i posted on the other thread about this, i think Rhyd may have lost out because people are assuming his career is already in the bag, so no need to vote for him. Leon will end up releasing a rushed album (they won't get away with waiting a year like they did with Leona), and by the summer Simon will be looking to the next winner. Leonas success (like her or not), has been phenomenal- so Simon prob is secretly pleased that Leon has won, he won't be around long enough to need his attention.

I dont think it was fixed, if you were simon, would you want Leon Or Rhydian as the winner of your show!!!!

I said a few weeks ago when the song for the winner was announced, that it would not suit Rhyd at all. I heard Leons version on the radio over breakfast, and it came acrosss as a forgettable dirge.

I think we should all protest by downloading ANYTHING to preventit being Christmas number one!! (apparently the Shaun the sheep them tune is avaialble, may try that)

leona has had the biggest/fastest selling album of all times. I haven't bought it but one can't argue with the figures.

On reflection I think Rhydian didn't win because of his duette. Imo he should have done a theatrical number "all I ask of you" or some such, but IMO Katherine Jenkins was just too heavy for the majority of voters.

I don't actually think it was fixed, why would it be?

i agree about the duet, i really don't like Katherine Jenkins, and it was so operatic, it would alienate a lot of people. i don't think it was fixed, it was just the end of a really strange series. i am not too sure what they want out of a winner- as Simon said, if it was a competition for the best vocal performance, Rhydian had to win, but as with all phone vote competitions, who can guess what the great british public are going to do[fgrin

Haven't read all the post but just thought I'd add my tuppence worth.

Rhydian will be a star anyway - he has an amzingly powerful voice and the demeanour to carry it off - not to mention the theatrical add-ons. He should have won though as he is the best singer.

Same Difference will end up in pantomime/muscials and childrens' Tv shows.

Leon - was not the best singer, he was flat a few times. I think it was just he is so nervous to begin with and it takes him a while to relax into a song, however, he is good when he sticks to his own style -easy to listen to. Remember he is only 18 years old! I think it is great he has won as he will be able to (hopefully) create a better life for himself and his family - he has been given a much needed chance at life, and he seems a lovely, caring young guy. Good luck to him I say.

Kylie did look awful - outfit was hideous and what has happened to her cheeks? She looked like she was storing food in there like a little hamster! I think the wig didn't help - she suits her elfin hairdo IMO.

I think some of you are a bit hard on Leon. Sure R is a fantastic singer and personally he should have won ( I think) but Leon could grow so much with some if the training R has done.

Why so hard on Kylie??? I think she looks different since her fight with cancer I can't put my finger on it but there is something different about her.

I would like see R sing Danny Boy.
