I assumed they had life insurance policy when they took out the mortgage so that when Chantelle died the mortgage was paid off.

He’s supposed to be loaded o suppose every few hundred helps. Plus he needs somewhere to go everyday instead just Faking he’s out. He’s not ex army criminal mastermind is he he could have career digging up dirt on everyone on square.

With the kids, being a single parent, he'd also be able to claim UC and children's element.

(How is he paying the mortgage?)

In real life grey would have packed his kids up and moved away, started again where no one knew him and gotten another lawyer job. There’s nothing to keep him in the square. He moved there for Chantelle to be near her family (which was never a believable storyline- that’s the opposite of what controlling abusive men do). He’d take the kids away from Karen and anyone else who would nosey in his business. And he’d manage to find a new sap like Whitney to look after his kids no problem.

Trouble is, the residents of Albert square tend to hang around awaiting their next story line or their next victim ! 😂
I really really hope he meets karma and it's Whitney who dishes it out to him!

So Sonia has graciously offered Dotty a share of Dot's cash to help rehabilitate Addict Mum. Right. Dotty and Fake Dad didn't look too chuffed, did they, considering that's what they (or at least Dotty) have been making out that's what all the shifty behaviour's been about all along.
