I hate the way soaps bring in these new characters who are total over the top caricatures. Shes literally walking round swigging out of a bottle. Come on EE. Do better. We aren’t 5 years olds that need characters spelled out to us.

I think I remember Sandra turning up with dotty when she was a child to try and scam Dot. Or maybe it was Nick that turned up with her? Anyway whoever it was pretended her name was Dotty to make Dot all soft and gooey.

Nick was scamming his mum again and used ' dotty ' as bait.
The dotty name stuck.
I remember it now ! Poor Dot , Nick was trouble all round

I noticed a photo of nick as a boy on the shelf in dots living room tonight. What a pleasant looking child he was

I’m sure Dotty/Kirsty’s mum was completely different character, quite meek and shy and not a junkie/alcoholic.

Not to be confused with Charlie Cottons mum aka Mrs Doyle.

But then Peter has had a complete change of character and is now morphing into Ian.
