Why did Jay have to mention the L word to Suki's son. He could have asked him to persuade his mum to let Honey have time off. Why doesn't Honey tell Suki to shove her job?

Apart from the obvious reason being that it would make the storyline even duller than it is, I think Honey is just too nice (a bit of a doormat) and knows Suki is hurting. She thinks Suki will come round eventually and they can go back to being friends with Honey supporting her through the guilt/grief over Jags.

Honey needs to just tell her to stuff her stupid job and leave !
