New thread.

Agree bit rich fiz blaming Tyrone for hopes behaviour! She was a pyromaniac long before he put his slippers under alina’s bed. More likely her psychopathic genes inherited from her father and shared with her crazy sister.

Audrey does live some distance away off the street, though never really been explained why.

It goes back to the 80s, @Akire. Audrey thought she and Alf were a cut above Coronation Street and pressured him to move. Behind the scenes, it was a practical move, as it created space for a new family on the street - Alf still had the corner shop, so it was feasible we’d still see him and Audrey around the street without them having to live there.

Akire · 30/09/2021 12:49

Thanks, in old Corrie Alfie died about a year ago and “only” left her house and business. No cash, would made sense her move in shop flat and sell house or get nice block flats when they eventually get built!

CiaoForNiao · 30/09/2021 13:36

I always thought the lack of cars was weird. If they had them we never saw them. Where did they all park?

Then all of a sudden there were cars everywhere and poor Liam has asthma.

Then no cars again even though the petition thing hadn't gone anywhere.

Now they are back so they can do a "stupid old Audrey" storyline.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 30/09/2021 13:46

Rita has had a car before as I remember Tina learned to drive in it and there was some storyline about it getting towed ? I think I’ve seen Toyah driving before as well maybe when she first arrived (back) in the street?

woodhill · 30/09/2021 18:12

@MrsRobbieHart

I’ve never known Rita to have a car until tonight. It’s funny how there were suddenly a million cars on the street again after it being empty since Liam had his Asthma attack. Cars only there when they need them to be.
I remember Rita always having a car. Did she drive with Deidre to catch Ken out with Stephanie Beecham
Akire · 30/09/2021 18:16

It’s 1999 old Corrie Rita goes back forth cash m carry all the time. Or sometimes visit Mavis Grin

MrsRobbieHart · 30/09/2021 18:27

Shows how observant I am! Grin she hasn’t mentioned one in a long time though. Not that I’ve heard, but that doesn’t mean much Grin

I know that some of them did have cars but they weren't all parked in the street until recently. Now they are there when they are needed for a story line. Maybe they live in the same cupboard as the children the rest of the time Grin

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 01/10/2021 09:34

I caught up with the first episode yesterday and just couldn't be arsed to watch the second one. It's so sodding tedious. Who gives a rat's ass about Audrey/Rita/Max/Daniel?

Shellingbynight · 01/10/2021 11:50

The antics between Rita and Audrey seem so contrived. They are both good actors, it's a shame they have to deal with this nonsense.

I wonder if the 'story' is that Audrey's eyesight is failing (cataracts?) because she hit Rita's car, and then was noticeably squinting at the menu.

crunchypeanutbutterontoast · 01/10/2021 12:57

Random thought - but what happen to Sinead’s beard oil business that Carla took over?

Don't forget Claudia - the three of them are now ridiculous characters. But then again, the scriptwriters have turned Gail into a demented idiot too. The actresses must be desperate for wages to continue playing such awful characters. They all used to be sensible/intelligent women, (except Claudia who's a newcomer).
Viviennemary · 01/10/2021 14:04

All the Corrie cars seem to be permanently in Kev's garage or in the process being taken there.

PlonkyWillyWonky · 01/10/2021 14:13

How long do you think it will be before kevin is offered zillions of £s for the garage by a developer? The footprint must be huge
Prime residential land.......

Well remembered! Hopefully making squillions on the quiet and then Bertie will have fortune on turning 18
WomanStanleyWoman · 01/10/2021 14:52

I know there are probably still social distancing rules in place for some of the episodes we’re currently seeing, but the number of soap characters who have seemingly been severely injured by minimal contact lately is ridiculous. Kevin shoves Imran off when he tries to grab him; Imran collapses, clutching his nose as it pours with blood, with Sabeen screaming about assault charges. He barely touched him!

It was the same in Emmerdale the other week with Rhona and Brenda. Rhona shoves Brenda away; she collapses in a heap looking like a stunned halibut. Granted, Brenda’s older, so perhaps unsteady on her feet, but Imran is a fit young man and must be about 6ft tall. Kevin couldn’t break his nose if he was trying, never mind by accident!

eddiemairswife · 01/10/2021 15:06

Kevin isn't tall enough to reach Imran's nose.

I think that's what Ray and Debbie tried (failed) to do?

PlonkyWillyWonky · 01/10/2021 15:25

They tried to buy up the houses to knock down and build a hotel, that's too ambitious and completely unbelievable (as well as a silly story line)
Small garage in the middle of a residential area, it's coming to your screens soon Grin
Disclaimer Its only my option

eggandonion · 01/10/2021 15:30

Perhaps the garage could have a multi storey carpark built on top of it?
I am slightly younger than Audrey, but can't read a menu without my glasses, and I wouldn't be cutting hair without them.(Is Audrey's still open?)

mycatisannoying · 01/10/2021 17:13

Some of the conversations the characters have - where they inadvertently land someone in the shit - are so totally contrived. They would never realistically take place!

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 19:42

Urgh. Corrie used to be so bloody good at these David and Gail scenes. That was painful.

MidlifeMel · 01/10/2021 19:43

How long can you string out a conversation about a sinkhole? Oh dear.

woodhill · 01/10/2021 19:44

Why don't they sue Debbie to rectify the sink hole, didn't that company cause it?

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 19:44

How many times can they get the word “sinkhole” into a 3 minute scene? Grin
