Crack on!

OP posts:
Thirtyrock39 · 09/08/2021 08:30

Faye is safe over nice but quiet abi because it's vote for your favourite not vote for least favourite so the big personalities stay in ...I keep doing bb comparisons but big brother used to lose big characters through vote to leaves and I think they changed the format due to this - it means the producers can control it by edits and screen time as well

TheTallOakTrees · 09/08/2021 08:32
@Soso7 it’s because people seem to weirdly think they make a great couple DESPITE what Liam has done. Still seeing people say that Fayve and Teddy should be together because they have real feelings and it’s just the producers - how can people romanticise such awful behaviour? Liam, Faye and Jake should not be lauded as being romantic at all!
I agree.
People excuse alsorts of inappropriate behaviour it's really sad how low many standards are. The bar is so low for many. Where's the self esteem

TheTallOakTrees · 09/08/2021 08:35

@AngeloMysterioso

I’m struggling to muster any respect for any of the women in there right now…
Indeed Faye is always right, her behaviour is always someone else's fault (in her mind). Weird logic.
TheTallOakTrees · 09/08/2021 08:37

@ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs

Wish Teddy would just do a Matthew and get rid
I think that he has ery low self esteem. It's odd.
TheTallOakTrees · 09/08/2021 08:42

@Blamelesscars

She is such a lying manipulative cow. She’s 100% doing what abusers do playing victim and not accepting their behaviour as unacceptable and all the girls are enabling her it’s disgusting
Yes, not one single person called her out. Is I have been hurt before a pass for despicable behaviour?
AntiFlag · 09/08/2021 08:42

@TheTallOakTrees I was thinking the same about Teddy - how can he keep wanting to pursue things with someone who speaks to him like she does, and the way she speaks to everybody else? He has either got really low self esteem or he wants to ‘rescue’ her.

Steakandcheeseplease · 09/08/2021 08:53

I swing between that Teddy has an abusive parent and is used to this behaviour and he is willing to stick it out for the prize money. They will kiss and make up now especially since she wasnt in the bottom three. They won't know when the vote was taken.

Really poor from LI. I think this will be my last season if I can be arsed seeing it through to the end. I feel like this has been the most manipulated fake season of the lot

CarpyDiem · 09/08/2021 09:06

@Unsubscribed

I don't get the timing of the vote? Faye not being in the bottom 3 suggests the vote was before all the drama in which case Jake should have escaped as well, unless he was already becoming unpopular.
The public voted before movie night - it's not a case of 'it must have been' as all those in this thread who voted already know

People are in the bottom few because either they're unpopular, or because people don't vote for them because they think that the person must be 'safe' and they'd rather save someone else

Jake might fall in to that category, because he is safe when with Liberty and the vote is for the couple. But when it's individuals, then it really shows that it's Liberty who is the popular one.

The vote was after CA (it was just after the post-CA recoupling) when we had seen Jake egging on the other boys, and that might have been a factor too

Winemewhynot · 09/08/2021 09:21

Fuming it’s the islanders vote again, what the hell is going on?!

Happy Kaz is in the bottom, her treatment of Matt wasn’t cool. Also rather happy Chloe and Toby weren’t, they’re the most fun to watch atm.

Laura and her pronunciation of everrrrry singgle worrrrd is just too much 🤦🏽‍♀️

putthebinsout · 09/08/2021 09:21

I wish one of the boys (probably Matthew as he's the only one with enough maturity) would sit teddy down and have a word. Teddy is floundering in there with no real support and needs to hear that he is worth more.

The girls will never speak out against Faye and the boys are either to immature, too stupid, or too busy managing their own bad behaviour. I think Matt could do it though

Hellohah · 09/08/2021 09:24

The thing for me with the whole Faye/Teddy situation is that Clarisse came back to the villa. It's obvious that Teddy spoke in a moment about sexual attraction, was respectful enough to shut it down and then obviously it was gone. I can't believe none of the other girls have mentioned this, if he was attracted to her then they surely would have noticeably gravitated towards each other on their return?

Didiusfalco · 09/08/2021 09:38

Yes, why does no-one seem to be taking Teddy aside and giving him a reality check? I mean Toby’s being quite sweet, but I can’t believe Matt doesn’t see it for exactly what it is.

Oysterbabe · 09/08/2021 09:38

It's nice that the vote shows Kaz and Jake that the public aren't fans as I suspect they smugly thought they'd cruise through to the final.
Poor Teddy 💔 I'm dying for him to point out how much worse Faye's behaviour was during Casa Amor.

Bouledeneige · 09/08/2021 09:38

I think the Aftersun cast were briefed to damp down the hatred and criticism of Faye for fear of stirring up more death threats etc aimed at her. I was disappointed by Roman Kemp too (the other pundits are pretty poor too - so inarticulate). But that’s shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. They should have more carefully considered that before the postcard and movie night choices were made.

I am concerned about Teddy and why he still wants Faye - it’s really not good self protection or self esteem. Why did no one tell him how toxic she is and why he really ought to run in the opposite direction? He hasn’t effectively defended himself at all and no one has pointed out how hurt he was watching the clips as she howled like a banshee. He was far more wronged than she was.

He ought to realise by now that the tantrums and table turning and disgusting behaviour will not go away - it will be back with the next flimsy excuse. If they make up now it’s just delaying the inevitable next break up. There is no hope of a lasting relationship and it clearly illustrates why Faye is single in the real world. His family have been very vocal about their dislike of Faye on social media so once he’s out they will all be telling him to get rid. I know in the past they did a bit when they brought in family or friends to meet the couples near the end. That will be tricky to find anyone who will want to be civil to Faye from his side.

I’m also interested that the tabloids aren’t full of stories from Fates exes telling stories about her past behaviour. Maybe they are being prevented from doing that because of mental health codes and the previous suicides.

SundaySheAteChocolate · 09/08/2021 09:39

@Aquarius1234

Your my girlfriend 🤢
I think it's 'you're my GIRL friend.'

I don't know why his intonation annoys me so much, but it does.

SundaySheAteChocolate · 09/08/2021 09:42

@l2b2

I just don't think Jake is very articulate/ emotionally intelligent.
This comment made me laugh! Talk about understatement.
KarenofSparta · 09/08/2021 09:47

@AngeloMysterioso

I’m surprised that Chloe is still so pale after all this time… girl takes her SPF seriously!!
Nowt wrong with being naturally pale...

Exactly this. Thing is Faye knows it wasn't a big deal, it's an excuse she used to deflect from her behaviour with Sam (Teddy did say she hadn't told him everything that had been said with Sam - even Dale picked Faye up on it). But she's just always in victim mode.

On After Sun, Faye's send off commentary to the camera about Sam was how funny he was, how he took the piss out of her and how much she loved it. Exactly the things she said she DIDN'T like about Teddy. It's so obvious she isn't into Teddy (that BS about her thinking she'd found the 'One' in him until Casa Amor...), but cannot stand people thinking she's the bad guy. Her insecurities make her cowardly, and self centred which in turn makes her unempathetic and vicious. Disappointed how it's been played down completely by itv.

The After Sun clips with her showing remorse are still all about her and her trust issues - even worse that it looks like she will try to go after Teddy again, and he'll take her back. I don't think this is all the prize money - he is smart enough to know they won't win given that there are other couples who are stronger/less toxic. Also he always looks genuinely distraught. He really does like her and thinks all this is self sabotage, rather than accepting she is just not that into him - for all the reasons she has given him/the girls.

I was wondering why I have ended up liking Chloe/Toby and I think it is because both of them were very honest and respectful of the other people they went after. Toby never was affectionate with Kaz, Abi or Mary, and the minute he realised he still liked Chloe, he ended things with them, truthfully. He also apologised to every girl he did upset, unlike Kaz, Faye or Tyler who still have never said the words, "I am sorry". Lots of alluding to it, but not the actual words without also blaming the other person. Chloe turned down Hugo instead of rebounding with him, and even with Dale - she took it slow (no demanding kisses/cuddles), she was dignified when he said he wanted to get to know Faye- and both respectfully agreed to just stay friends when it was obvious there was nothing there. If there's no more drama between them, they could win I reckon!

I don't want to be pedantic but the public vote was on Thursday night which was between the 2 episodes showing movie night. The second episode showing Faye's drama was screened here on Friday. On Thursday a couple of clips had already been shown (one of them showing Jake saying he didn't want to rip Liberty's clothes off and another one, can't remember which sorry) ... so I think that might have something to do with Jake being less popular in Thursday's public vote.

But the whole of movie night will have been filmed before the vote - so the producers deliberately choosing to put it before Faye's meltdown (knowing what happened) is extremely questionable imo.

Unsubscribed · 09/08/2021 10:20

Thank you @Chicchicchicchiclana that sheds light on it.

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 09/08/2021 10:22

What struck me is how furious Jake looked when he was told he was in the bottom 3.
And then he didn't even try to reach to Liberty- Matt is the one who comforted her.

To me it was the ultimate sign that she is just an afterthought for him.

ChequerBoard · 09/08/2021 10:26

Am I the only one hoping Jake will go (highly unlikely I know) and that Matthew will step in to console poor Liberty? I could really see them working as a couple, both level headed and nice people.

Unsubscribed · 09/08/2021 10:27

I also get the vibe that Jake is not really into Liberty and never was. He probably thought another option would present itself but then it never did.

Bibidy · 09/08/2021 10:27

I don't think people have ever liked Jake, even before movie night, but I think most like Liberty and she has carried him through.

It's annoying that they keep leaving the choice of who's dumped down to the islanders instead of the public vote because it just leaves the new people getting sent home all the time. Obviously Dale and Mary are going to go. Even Hugo only left because they could only save one boy and one girl and Kaz saved Tyler.

AntiFlag · 09/08/2021 10:28

Definitely Chloe and Toby to win! They’re amusing, they’ve carried the show really and they’re actually honest about their up and downing.
