Woke up in time to see the end of the last set. Looks like Matteo made a good start but then ran out of steam. He certainly wasn’t putting up much of a challenge in the last few games.

looks like the Djok match went the same way all his others have then. I saw the scores for the first set when it was 5-5 and thought it might be close- but obviously Djok did his voodoo thing. .

Hopefully Sascha can do something- but he will have to be a bit more consistent with his first serve than he was in the latter half of his match with Lloyd, it went a bit awol at times.

Good win for for Sakkari though. I'm not sure who Emma would have had a better chance against really. It should be a good match. Unfortunately, it's on late, so I probably won't see watch it live.

Grr. Sascha definitely needs to wear his gold medal for the match.

It’s a bit annoying Emma’s semi final is on so late - I really want to watch but I can’t stay up that late. Maybe I could go to sleep, get up and watch the match, and then go back to bed!

Watched most of Emma's match (on my phone, unfortunately, whilst preparing dinner!). Still can't quite believe she won! She played some terrific shots and she just seems so calm, with a good tennis brain. It's not simply that she's now won 8 matches, it's the manner in which she's won them and not losing a set in the process!
I thought that Bencic would be a step up too far for Emma. Glad to be proved wrong

Really hoping that Sascha and all his medals can do his stuff against Djok - it’s weird that he seems to have lost the first set in almost all of his matches. Failing that hopefully Daniil can finish him off in the final (unless FAA) gets there

It’s annoying that the matches are on so late - I woke up in the early hours to check the scores hoping for a Matteo win but it wasn’t to be!

I thought the same after the Svitolina match. And I wasn’t even half joking. I was thinking this could really happen.

It was absolutely worth staying up. Now for an hour or two of sleep!

Wow! I missed the match but just saw the scores- what an amazing opportunity for both of them, Emma and Leylah. Emma has proved she is the real deal. Can't wait for the final now!

I only saw the second set of Emma’s match.

Not only is it incredible that she’s got to the final, she’s done it without dropping a set, and not even had a tie break in her main draw matches. Fernandez had a tougher semi final, so might that give Emma an advantage? I know that doesn’t always follow.

It's quite a weekend really- with 3 Brits featured in finals- although Joe and Jamie (on other sides of the net) are being a bit over shadowed by Emma really. I'm sure they understand. .

I really want to try and stay awake to watch the first semi final tonight. I don't hold out much hope .

The first men’s semi is on at 9pm here I think so possibly 8pm uk time? DH has managed to find the tennis on Eurosport so might watch a bit of it later (although with Spanish commentary - will probably be more interesting than Jim Courier!)

Hopefully I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and Sascha will have won against Djok (he’s probably annoyed that his amazing achievement is being overshadowed by two female teenagers .

Oh, I'm quite sure Djok will find a way to get attention back on himself. . Apparently he hit a ball in the direction of the umpire during his match the other day- he never learns, does he? It's a shame it didn't cause any damage ant get him thrown out. he really needs to get his temper in check.

I'm sure the Spanish commentary will be much better than Jim even if you can't understand it .

Might see if DH fancies a trip to Manacor - it’s been so hot that we’ve not really moved too far - I’m not sure that Rafa would appreciate being stalked by a menopausal crazy lady!
