Faye commenting on Jake's fake teeth... not sure she can speak...

Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 21:45

I don't think they will change the boring format at all. Ratings are high everyone knows the exact flow of the show and they dont care about mixing things up in a big way.

Muggee · 07/08/2021 21:45

@RainbowZebraWarrior

Richard Cowles, Executive Producer what a guy.
Kind of agree with him on general terms, but in relation to last night it went too far. Was it an interview about last night?

I thought that too

It's high for the channel, but nearly half of what season 5 was (2.5ish million less).
Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 21:47

Watched first bit of unseen then got bored.
Jake looking in mirror more times than is normal. Pathetic.

Bouledeneige · 07/08/2021 21:49

I'm enjoying Unseen Bits. Lots of laughs and japes - and way more friendship dynamics, small group chats and messing. What a shame all the good humour was drained away by Movie night. It sort of makes Faye's freak out even worse. Destroying the mood.

carriehagshaw · 07/08/2021 21:54

Having seen more of Faye and teddy it seems like he gives her the ick... she finds him cringe

Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 21:58

Richard Cowles reminds me of that awful X Factor producer that used to manipulate and rig the public vote back in the day with Simon Cowell.

Another ITV boss person said this about including gays for representation.
and ITV have been called out after boss Kevin Lygo said there are 'quite enough gay people on television' at the Edinburgh Festival.'"

Mistressofnone · 07/08/2021 22:00

Just caught up on last night's show too. Faye! Gone right off her. The way she laughed shamelessly through her own clip with no regard for how Teddy must be feeling.

Teddy is so emotionally mature. He is right - she has been looking for any excuse to get out of their union. He did well to stand his ground but I wish he had made more of a point of 'actually I'm effed off with you. When you're ready to apologise I'll hear you out'.

Hopefully he will process everything and move on from her now.

CarpyDiem · 07/08/2021 22:02

@RevolvingPivot

They should definitely show more of this stuff on the normal programme. They are so much more relaxed and actually have personalities.
Completely agree!

Though perhaps it's not 'aspirational' enough?

(Why anyone would aspire to be a fishwife is beyond me, but that's what the main show is showing)

Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 22:02

No wonder love island is crap and shallow when the producers are awful themselves
They don't have to cast extreme botox and hairless models .

LadyCatStark · 07/08/2021 22:06

Faye needs to lighten up FFS Teddy was just messing about and being a normal guy 🙈.

Muggee · 07/08/2021 22:07

That's the programme though, I'm not sure it's a huge surprise.

but he didn't... he really didn't ..

Liam Yes ... Tyler Yes... Toby Yes..
Hugo Yes... (but he doesn't count as he was friend zoned)

Teddy... absolutely Not 😳

Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 22:10

Yes but I think some people thought they would improve the casting and diversity in recent years and this one. Oh well .

NammeChannge · 07/08/2021 22:14

I think we should be angrier at the producers than with Faye.

There was ample footage they could have showed that would have put Liam and Millie in jeopardy again. It was so much worse than that shown as Millie has to find out still.

They didn't, as Millie is mature and therefore not good TV, so they deliberately triggered someone who shouldn't have got through the vetting process, in order so show something that closely mirrors Caroline Flack's story.

You could make this sh*t up. I feel.sorry for Caroline as these people would have been her friends and I wonder how much help and support she really got if they are willing to rehash history.

LadyCatStark · 07/08/2021 22:14

@QueenBee52 no, I mean tonight on Unseen Bits. He was messing about doing a silly dance and she got all stroppy with him for it.

LadyCatStark · 07/08/2021 22:19

PS is anyone watching the Ian Stirling “comedy” after Unseen Bits. What a load of shite!

Hopeisallineed · 07/08/2021 22:20

Already Faye’s social media filling up with insults and death threats. ☹️ Terrible that the producers have given this airtime and not dealt with it carefully.

Aquarius1234 · 07/08/2021 22:26

Imo not showing rows and arguments is worse . Covering up is rubbish in a reality tv show.
If this was 10 years ago and you could watch live feed all night I would probably watch the whole evening and judge for myself.

Um yes, but three people on this not terribly big show have taken lives.

What the producers did was gas lighting. There is EITHER a problem with the show OR the people they accept onto it.

They had every opportunity to pull Faye off, they had every opportunity to not show it, or they could have not put someone in a situation they knew she couldn't cope with.

NotJustACigar · 07/08/2021 22:39

Agree with that and also think it was naive of the network to think the people who caused the problem could also be the right people to fix it. The network should have made major changes to the staffing of the producers etc and mandated that the show become kinder to participants but to my knowledge they didnt do that. Instead they paid lip service to the need to change and this awful season which lurches between boring and alarming is the result.

Christinayangtwistedsister · 07/08/2021 22:40

I think she can cope with it , this is how she behaves and she needs to take responsibility for that

Do the public really want them to be kinder? I think a lot of people watch for the drama
