In the past the newbie had the power and would choose to couple up with. This season it seems like they want to keep the original group and they are just in for a day or two to test their loyalty. It's bizarre as they are the most boring group they've ever had.

Yep they’ve deffo switched it up a lot this year. It’s like they are throwing everything at it that they can to stop it from becoming boring but it’s not having the required effect. They are also recoupling way too frequently. It used to be about once a week but it seems to be every few days this season. All of this means that there is too much change and not enough time to see personalities and friendships/relationships develop. It’s LI on speed and it’s unsettling to watch.

I am enjoying the series, it is a welcome distraction and a great excuse to sit down each evening. My favourites are Millie, Teddy, Aaron and (whispers it) Hugo.

I was a fan of Hugo but I’m questioning as to why he’s in there?! At the moment it seems it’s just for the tan and the holiday! He doesn’t seem interested in finding anything but a friendship couple. I do think he genuinely likes Chloe but she’s made it clear that he’s got zero chance there…..

It's like he's never watched any of the other series!

What happened to 'as these guys are new, they get to pick someone first' for Georgia?

The producers couldn't afford to lose Chloe and they also wanted the dramatic moment of Toby making a decision between the two women.

If the newbies were to pick first then Abigail would pick Toby, Tyler would pick Kaz and then Georgia would have no choice but to pick Hugo since everyone else are in strong couples.

That would have left Chloe on her own going home and then Abi and Toby would have been left in peace to crack on which would have resulted in more boring tv and let's face it...most of us are here for the drama and the producers know it..

I don't think the fact that Ian Sterling mentioned Georgia getting a flight home on Friday shows its set up. More because Sharon and AJ were dumped after coupling with Hugo

Fair enough re. Georgia's take. And if he didn't want to be with her, he's no more obliged to than any other of the boys are. It was her (or the producers) strategy to go so full on for him in an all or nothing gamble, which didn't pay off. But ultimately I think it'll work out better for her than for Abi who might have played it craftily fast and got her place, but at what cost? Because Toby's no catch as anyone can surely see now!

I'm with those who say the Chloe and Kaz situations aren't comparable, given how Kaz/Toby were extremely early days and nothing happening, whereas Chloe/Toby had done the hideaway and were very much a couple. The 'exclusive' convo should have been superfluous, as it seems to be for the other couples, some of whom were much less established. So I'm not into the 'she had it coming' view on Chloe or the Kaz triumph about it/wishing that she'd gone out. I think Kaz should focus on her own situation and see if Tyler is really too good to be true or not.

And as for Faye... she really needs to stop making it about her. Toby doesn't even like her so god knows why she's on his side, esp when it's all about his bruised ego and he's incapable of thinking how anyone else feels. Does he really think it was fair to not only ditch Chloe, but to send her home?? And no one should call him on it? His poor scrambled brain simply can't process human relationships. I thought it was so funny and telling when he was saying to Abi he'd decided to step back and she turned that into 'have fun' (i.e. with her) and in a split-second his goldfish mind had forgotten stepping back and he was now all about having fun! Course he can't have any regrets as he can't retain any thoughts!!

I'm new to this programme this year ... Why do the boys get to choose at the re-coupling?

It’s usually equal and it’s usually the girls one week boys the next and changes every time but not sure why this year it’s been the boys 3 Times in a row, people will say it’s because there is more girls but usually they do try to even it out

The girls get to choose too when there are more boys than girls in the villa. Can't wait for Casa Amor and hope for some different cast members and new couples forming!

I imagine they did it as it's casa amor soon so they needed to even out the numbers and finalise the couples before then. I imagine that will be on Sunday.

I've been lurking ! But suprised at how many people aren't with Hugo! I quite enjoyed his speech and think he is right to stick it right on that slimy little arrogant knob Toby!! The fear of my daughter bringing him home! 😯
