I'm watching series 2 as missed it first time around and oh my god the difference is astounding! The cast actually have conversations and personalities and they are very very beautiful but not constantly posing and full of plastic

This is the first series I've watched and Laura Whitmore was only in the first ep - was Caroline in it more?

She was in it quite a bit more. Sometimes they'd do re couplings etc without her but she was there quite a lot for example when new people came in to the villa etc

I can only assume the producers do not like showing natural unset up interactions or conversations.
They only like showing fake stuff. As though real unscripted is too dangerous ..
It's stupid.
We would all rather watch the organic stuff.

Shortly before the episode, Danny released a statement via ITV from the villa, apologising for using the slur. It’s hard to tell whether the controversy will be discussed on the show or if ITV will ignore it until he’s (pretty sharply, if Twitter has its say) kicked off the show. But to alert an islander to what’s being written about him in the press without actually addressing it on the show seems bizarre, especially when past islanders have not been given the chance to defend themselves. The fourth wall has been broken, but if the others aren’t told and the show doesn’t address the comments, it’s hard to imagine it not clouding the coming episodes.

Okay I've been watching series 2 for a while now.. on episode 4. I think it's 100% the drinking element. That's where the drama comes from. I think these young adults are so insecure that without the lubricant of alcohol they're just... dull

I was really shocked they had them sharing beds from Day 1 too. Seems extremely weird after the way we now talk about rape culture etc.

Yeh I was quite surprised though in series 2 , first night, I'd be of the boys accused the girl of being frigid. But apparently they're married now soooo

I think Danny must choose Lucinda (as Aaron and Lucinda don't act like they're in a couple in FL) and I think AJ goes for Hugo based on what she said about morals. Equally, AJ could choose Liam or Teddy for having the morals to say no to her but that would be really masochistic of her.

I think she chooses Hugo too. I hoped there'd be more drama and she'd choose Liam but apparently not.

Yeah and I'm really surprised that Lucinda turns him down. I guess she was only keeping her options open with Aaron in order to stay in the villa. I doubt that she's being Miss Morals and not wanting to "cheat" on Danny.

LI is so dull it's the one that can wait for catch-up viewing! If I need to watch it at all (rather than read the thread)

I am watching S1 and she's in almost every episode - either giving a recap, speaking to people before they go in/when they come out, speaking to a couple who had to sit with her and make a decision on who to dump, has Ian Stirling in for a chat (not sure how often that is, maybe once a week) and she also has a little audience there who she interacts with. It really does seem to join everything together better.
