Hello. De-lurking to ask what is Casa Amour? I’ve not watched LI island before (well actually I did watch that very first series, when it was Celebrity Love Island with Jane Middlemiss and Abby Titmus on it, but that was a thousand years ago). I’m really only watching because I know Lucinda’s mum (who is lovely btw)!
I think there’s a lot of editing going on, and a lot of narrative creation.
Casa Amor is one of the set piece weeks
Either the boys or the girls are rounded up,and sent off on a trip/brunch or whatever, and whilst their out of the villa, the girls/boys move out to another villa (called Casa Amor) where there will be whole new set of the opposite sex. Meanwhile, the villa is seeing the arrival of its set on incomers.
The idea is that the pre-Casa Islanders then have to choose whether to stick with their previous other half, or if they dump them for someone new.
So one girl (say) will say whether she's coupling with a new boy, or wants her new one. If new, they stand together as a couple, if not she stands alone. Then the other half of the couple walks in, either with the new girl he's chosen to couple with, or alone. And then it's either happy reunion, mutual moving on, or a rather awkward moment.
Or memorably, you can walk in alone, with a soft toy elephant that your girl left you with (leaving whole audience going 'awwww'
