@Mrstreehouse

It’s not playing the game to best effect if you leave! Playing the game to best effect is meeting someone who the public think you are being genuine with, staying to the end and winning all the dosh! Or have I misunderstood the ‘game’?
Greg O’Shea understood the roolz!

@RainbowZebraWarrior

I'm really not sure how people are only realising that he's a good lad now and thinking that the editing has been unkind. He has been LOVELY. He made all the early coffees and has been nothing short of a good boy all round. A great friend to all the lads. But some folk have judged him for his accent and not quite knowing how to talk to girls. So his only crime is being himself?
I agree. I really enjoyed watching Brad. He seems a decent guy and whilst he clearly lacks experience when it comes to talking to the opposite sex, he was still always respectful. And he didn't come across as sleazy as so many of the other guys do.

Just watching now. SO impressed by Brad.

Dancingonmoonlight · 15/07/2021 10:20

Completely agree. He was too nice to be in there. Most of the others are very unlikeable people.

MummyJ12 · 15/07/2021 10:22

So impressed by Brad last night. Not so impressed with Toby…..what a plonker! His immaturity definitely showed.

Definitely. I found his approach refreshing. I always distrust guys with 'game' who are really smooth and seem to know exactly what to say to women at any given moment. They've clearly had a lot of practice and it comes across as very insincere. It's all just a veneer.

I liked Brad's slightly clumsy approach because it all felt more honest.

MummyJ12 · 15/07/2021 10:36

Sharon’s outfit was very ABBA wasn’t it?!

If you assume the game is all in the villa and that the £50k is the only prize, then es you're right.

The other prizes are the sorts of work you pick up as a result of being a memorable Islander, which can be more effectively achieved from an early exit than a later one (as you get a better run at it in the early days when there aren't so many of them)

And I finding someone you really like, whether you are popular with the voting public or not, is a win. Even if it only lasts one sweet summer, inside or outside (which could also read 'with or without producer interference')

@Chicchicchicchiclana

How can anyone say Lucinda should have left with Brad with a straight face? How ridiculous. I also don't understand the "he/she's just playing the game" comments. Yes, and? They're all in there to win £50,000 and the ersatz but very lucrative fame that comes with being on the show - the longer the better.

If you seriously think any of their priorities are finding "the one" then you are being hopelessly gullible a bit naieve I think.

Obviously they're all playing a game but being so overt about it won't win the public opinion. One minute she's off Brad, to his face he's the man of her dreams

She doesn't bring drama or like ability. Someone like Liberty deserves to win even if she came for deals first and foremost. Because she's genuine and kind and she's actually open to finding someone.

Ughmaybenot · 15/07/2021 11:44

All I kept thinking throughout the drama that was the Brad / Lucinda tragedy was we needed the gorgeous Theo Campbell (series 3, I believe?) back… ‘if she really liked him, she’d go with him!’
I can’t decide if there are any islanders who I wouldn’t happily send home right now. They’re all so unlikeable!

Bluntness100 · 15/07/2021 11:44

Oh cmon, she hardly knew Brad. She might like him, fancy him, thinks but both her and him were realistic enough to know that they didn’t know that for sure, it was too early and they were just getting to know each other.

Thinking she should have jacked it in to be with someone she’d known a couple of days is mad. 😂

Ughmaybenot · 15/07/2021 11:46

I should say, in fairness, I don’t really think Lucinda needed to leave with Brad. They’d known each other a few days ffs and while she clearly thought he was gorgeous (didn’t we all?), she had her doubts re his character, not asking anything about her etc. She stands to gain a lot by staying in, even if that’s the way @AuntieStella mentioned (very accurate actually, not a leap imo!)

ElderMillennial · 15/07/2021 11:52

@Noterook But what actually happened was the man was kind and rolled over (as you put it) while she was completely selfish...

I just don't see why Lucinda got to stay and not Brad and there was barely any discussion about it. I'm sure they'd have all preferred Brad to stay.

Bluntness100 · 15/07/2021 11:56

I think people are being a bit unfair to Lucinda. Brad offered she accepted. Slagging her off ans saying she should have gone instead is a bit silly, one of them had to go. They barely knew each other. Who ever went someone would be pissed off.

Ughmaybenot · 15/07/2021 12:04

I wonder whether actually Brad wasn’t enjoying it like he thought he would? Might be a stretch but it sounds like his home town is his whole world and he almost struck me as a bit of a fish out of water in the villa. He might have been missing home and glad to get back.
Equally tho, he may have been being completely genuine in wanting Lucinda to have the opportunity and I’m way overthinking this Grin

QueenBee52 · 15/07/2021 13:06

I think Brad is now in Casa Amor

PumpkinKlNG · 15/07/2021 13:15

But we will know if he appears on after sun surely?? Would they really send him out again after as he will need to quarantine for 2 weeks again? When is casa amor isn’t that still a while off still...

PringlePonders · 15/07/2021 13:31

Brad in Casa Amor with Rachel

AuntieStella · 15/07/2021 13:33

I can’t decide if there are any islanders who I wouldn’t happily send home right now. They’re all so unlikeable!

I'd keep Kaz and Liberty, and maybe Hugo, and happily dump all the rest.

unique1986 · 15/07/2021 13:58
