@whoisyennefer

Did they send them on a date knowing they were bottom?
No, they can’t have known. The date can’t have taken place after the vote.

The fire pit scene was filmed late Monday evening, as the vote only happened late evening in the UK, and we watched it Tuesday evening.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/07/2021 13:09

@blossomhillx

Chloe will probably try and nick teddy from Faye now Shock
Yes, I think the same.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/07/2021 13:16

@JacquelineCarlyle

Thanks *@ashmts & *@AuntieStella** - I can see Hugo seems a nice enough guy but he does nothing for the show - no fun, no gossip & picking Sharon seemed strange to me after the 'fake' argument so I don't get why anyone would like him enough to vote for him .

@AuntieStella I'd have no clue what teens thought so wouldn't mind you posting (& I wouldn't even know where to start to find a teen gossip site Grin)

You haven't seen much of Hugo but that's just a case of editorial choices. He could be the life and soul for all we know, but all we are shown every night is the endless dreary non-conversations between the so-called couples. We've all been whingeing on the threads that you don't get any glimpses of what they are really like as individuals.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/07/2021 13:23

@Monsteraobliqua

I think that's a nasty 'twist' from a programme that is supposed to be safeguarding the cast better and being more aware of their happiness etc. No idea if they're genuine about each other but I think it should be both leave, neither leave or one is voted off and the other has to decide whether to go with them, not this
I agree with this. It's quite horrible. I'm not keen on either Brad or Lucinda but this is just awful. I'm not looking forward to watching tonight. It's very dark.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/07/2021 13:27

Sorry for spamming the thread! I've just done a lot of catching up and some of you make really good points!

I'll shut up now.

AuntieStella · 14/07/2021 13:29

They've done this sort of choice before though, haven't they?

PumpkinKlNG · 14/07/2021 13:34

Have they? I thought it was usually the other islanders deciding who goes rather than the two of them having to decide which is very different

unique1986 · 14/07/2021 13:41

I keep reading comments on Twitter saying Kaz and Liberty should just couple up and take the 50k.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/07/2021 13:42

@wedswench Tinder isn’t so big up there, it’s not so populated and you still need to travel to meet up. I believe him, it’s hard to meet people when you’re from that kind of area. I’m sure he would be a fuckboy if he lived near London.

unique1986 · 14/07/2021 13:47

Since when do you need to just date people within a 20 mile radius.
I'm with Wes.
Even the geeks travel 100 miles for a date these days.

LarsErickssong · 14/07/2021 13:57

I live in the arse end of nowhere in The North and Tinder is still very popular and people manage to have plenty of 'hook ups'. I'm not saying I agree that Brad is lying about not having sex since 2019 but the idea that he couldn't have regular hook ups because he's from Amble is ridiculous.

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 14/07/2021 13:57

I too am not sure how I feel about tonight’s episode. It seems so cruel, you can see Brad likes Lucinda very much and it’s brought out an almost vulnerable and shy side to him.
He’s full of banter and laughs with the boys but I don’t think he seems wry confident with girls at all.

He reminds me of tommy fury actually. He was so infatuated with Molly-Mae and came across really vulnerable and almost nervous with her.

LarsErickssong · 14/07/2021 13:59

If anything when I was single it was easier to find someone to meet up on tinder where I live now because there were less people available and they were more desperate. When I was living in Manchester people had lots of choice so I was always way down their list Grin

vjg13 · 14/07/2021 13:59

I think that is a very over generous assessment of Brad!

weekend2021 · 14/07/2021 14:02

“If Toby is ‘Aldi Wes’, Hugo must be ‘Aldi Dr Alex’?! 😂”

So does that make Faye ‘Aldi Olivia’ (Atwood) Smile

Bonjourfern · 14/07/2021 14:28

I believe Brad. I grew up in a small village and it was impossible to meet people unless you went to school with them. If they are all idiots there is no one! And Tinder was pointless because a lot of people from small areas don't venture out that far for culture or relationships.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/07/2021 14:28

Maybe I’m wrong about tinder, but I know Amble. He certainly doesn’t appear to have much experience though.

TheRebelle · 14/07/2021 14:49

With his job he probably doesn’t meet many girls, he doesn’t exactly seem to know how to talk to women.

blossomhillx · 14/07/2021 14:54

When is first look up? Will be hard to show anything without spoiling

blossomhillx · 14/07/2021 15:13

Oooo it's up now

LarsErickssong · 14/07/2021 15:17

Interesting first look!

I agree.

Don't get the logic of doing things like this when the premise is meant to be to 'find love' (although obvs we all know none of these people are seriously looking for love in there).

Why penalise 2 people for finding someone they like?

blossomhillx · 14/07/2021 15:48

Toby is pissed off about being in the bottom with Chloe

TitsInAbsentia · 14/07/2021 16:06

@Bibidy I don't see it as penalising someone for finding someone else they like - assuming that is genuinely who go the least votes and not a production manufactured result. Plus if you really have found your one then you can leave with them?

Dancingonmoonlight · 14/07/2021 16:08

Why penalise 2 people for finding someone they like?

I agree.
It’s always been a popularity contest.
Coupling up to be z listers is a more accurate name for it.
Brad and Lucinda like each other. Breaking them up while leaving the friend zone couples together is bad form.
