New drama starts tonight. Know there’s a few of us that love an all weekl drama

Anna from England and husband Jake from Australia move back to oz to to make a fresh start on their marriage

They hire Becky to be their nanny to their 2 kids

Not sure what it’s about but we love a drama and murder and thriller so hopefully will be good

I was wrong earlier when I said about all the Channel 5 dramas being crap, this one isn't !

None of the three are what they seem , looking forward to see how it will end tonight.

Did the car actually crash? I thought she was just driving recklessly with the kids in the back. Either way, I'm afraid I don't find it implausible that Jake might have set that up knowing that it might kill the kids. He's not that bothered about what happens to the baby while he's in the Red Room of Pain and he was more concerned with trying to get Becky off the hook than he was with figuring out what had actually happened.

I did like her fancy dressing gown/kimono thing, though. I'm not at all keen on the belted midi-dresses they keep putting her in - they're the sort of thing Gok Wan used to insist were great for women with big bums (like me!) but I've never found one yet that didn't make me look like one big bum with a person attached.

I hate buying clothes these days : I'm an odd shape, dresses make me look ' stout' ; I'd look awful in Anna's ones.
A plain kimono might be nice when it's baking hot ( around the house) although I thought they went out in the 70s. Clearly not !

This is getting better with each episode. I hope there is a good twist and the smug bastard gets his comeuppance. I don’t really know why he is hell bent on getting custody of the kids as he doesn’t seem to concerned about them.

In general terms abusive men can do this not because of their love for the children but because they hate the ex/soon to be ex so much and want to hurt them as much as possible.

My dad used to threaten my mum that if she left he'd take us and even that he'd track us down and kill all of us. He was army and a former gang member so he was certainly capable of it.

Like those men that do murder suicides killing the kids on contact visits and then themselves.

I can't see how Anna will end up as the baddy, unless it turns out it was her thumping Jake and not vice versa, but surely he would have said that when Becky asked? All good evidence for his custody bid, you'd think. On the other hand, Jake is being painted as such a heinous git that perhaps it is all some kind of elaborate misdirection.

I'm a bit 🤨 at the idea that Anna doesn't look fragile - what does a mentally fragile person look like? She's not skinny but that doesn't mean she can't suffer from PND or anxiety or whatever...

I agree. There is no perfect victim and abuse can happen to anyone, which is why it is so damaging when people say that the actress looks too "hard" to have that happen to her. It is bollocks. Victims look like everyone else does, as do abusers.

Tho granny didn’t seem that upset and her son

I think Anna kills Jake , but frames Becky with her ear ring in the pool where he drowned after taking the date rape drug

Anna gets rid of hubby , and Becky /ow and keeps the kids and all the money

It reminds of those low budget films on Ch5 in the afternoons, of which I have occasionally watched bits. Always a theme of people not being what they seem, usually one a dangerous psychopath, sometimes a kidnap, much danger and plenty of incidental music. The difference is that 'Lie With Me' is a bit more padded and drawn out.

Good to see Janine again though, she is a good actress.

It would be nice if Becky had a genuine attack of conscience and wasn't just worried about not having anywhere to go... at this stage I'm wishing a sticky end on everyone except Anna.
