These are my favourites. Also loved Breaking Bad, Homeland, Suits.

What else can I watch? I was gutted Time only had three episodes!

Ps nothing too creepy / gory

Unforgotten? I only discovered it recently and really enjoyed it. Watch from the beginning.

Happy Valley is absolutley outstanding.

Mare of Eastown reminded me very much of an American Happy Valley (although with a completely different plot).

The Sopranos is incredible for anyone who loves dark dramas with strong characters but some episodes can be very violent.

The Killing (original Danish version) is fantastic, great plot, strong flawed, sympathetic characters, great narrative arc.

Finally Mad Men, no blood, no gore, no crime but rounded characters and excellent developing storylines.

We are late to the Sons of Anarchy party, but I am completely loving it!

Bodies. (Unless you’re pregnant!)

Giri/Haji on Netflix is brilliant.

I also loved Happy Valley/Line of Duty/Broadchurch etc and other favourites have been Money Heist and The Americans.

Fargo, the series

Ive just finished Happy Valley and the standard of acting blew me away. It's outstanding. I'm on the hunt for something similar too.

The Virtues with Stephen Graham was amazing.
Also Broken with Sean Bean, it's by the same guy who did Time.

More glam setting, but if you have NowTV, Succession is amazing--series about a Rupert Murdoch-esque guy's adult kids fighting for control of the family empire. Stick with it past episode 1. It's one of the best things I've ever seen, but is definitely black humour a bit similar to Thick of It.

Hinterland is good.

Hidden is fantastic!

The actress who played the main female teenager in the second series gave me actual chills.

Definitely Mare of Easttown I loved that.

A few years old but I only watched it last year - my sons both recommended 'Babylon' and it was excellent.

Luther

Guilt. Blackly humorous, Scottish, satisfyingly convoluted. It's on BritBox, maybe also iPlayer.

Luther became massively, massively troubling.
