..on This Morning instead of Holly and Phil?

Just saw how well they dealt with Joey Essex in talking about his new documentary on the suicuide of his mum when he was 10. They were just lovely and helped him talk even though he was clearly struggling.
I find them a joy to watch and their relationship is effortless, not put on.
Phil and Holly have clearly grown bored of the show and it really does seem like the success has gone to their head as they just don't seem to sympathise with the callers in as much as they used to.
Also does everyone else not buy their fake laughing fits? I swear they used to be real but now they put it on as the producer obviously wants it!

Basically ITV please refresh with Alison and Dermot, a great pair!!

I agree, was thinking the same thing. Even quite like the occasional mistakes Grin
There’s a warmth to them that just isn’t there with Phil and Holly.

Coffeeislife04 · 02/06/2021 11:47

I agree I actually want to watch it when there on Phil and Holly have had there time absolutely adore the warmth and realism with Alison and Dermot.

Mummy194 · 02/06/2021 12:57

I love Alison and Dermot.

Once I just came across Alison's interviews with A listers, and she had such rapport ...........The Rock, Tom Cruise etc. everyone just seemed to get her.

I do like Holly though, and I would definitely be happy never to see Ruth and her husband again.

Ccoffee217 · 02/06/2021 13:50

I'm glad other people feel the same, it seems Holly and Phil are just fulfilling a contract and it doesn't seem like the genuinely love the show anymore.

Also don't you think Phil does seem less happy since he came out? You'd think he'd be the opposite!

BillieSpain · 02/06/2021 13:58

I no longer watch it because of them.

bonfireheart · 02/06/2021 15:03

What a brave young man Joey Essex is, he looked so vulnerable, really hope making this documentary has helped him, such a sweet lad.

colouringindoors · 02/06/2021 15:05

Totally agree. The Holly and Phil smug love-in leaves me cold.

Ccoffee217 · 02/06/2021 15:13

@bonfireheart agreed, I felt like giving him a cuddle. I imagine he can really empathise with Prince William and Harry as well.
I'm sure Joey will grow stronger from this and by the time he is in his mid/late thirties will feel more at peace with himself, at least I hope so..

I can't stand A and D.. Its stilted and disjointed. They interrupt and talk over each other all the time
I've said it before, I'm sure they are lovely people but they just don't work well together on TM
It's almost like they are trying too hard

Rillington · 02/06/2021 19:20

I love Alison but the partnership doesn't work. Dermot is so dull.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 02/06/2021 19:23

Ruth and Eamonn all day long for me.

The gein twins and the chuckle siblings are not for me.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 02/06/2021 19:24

Grin.

It always autocorrects to gein when I type about these two.

My phone knows…

bonfireheart · 02/06/2021 21:40

Dermot used to be so funny on the bog brother show.
He presents big shows on TV (x Factor) and on radio, so not sure where his personality has disappeared to. I'm a bit biased cos he looks like DP but without the sense of humour.

BrilliantBetty · 02/06/2021 21:43

No way. I don't watch when they are on.
Dermot is alright but Alison is unprofessional and annoying a lot of the time.

Glad they covered a difficult piece well though, for Joey Essex. I didn't see it.

Sparklingbrook · 02/06/2021 21:57

Anyone except Ruth and bored Eamonn for me.

That said, I hardly ever get to watch these days due to work. I like A&D though.

KarensChoppyGob · 03/06/2021 12:00

@SheldonesqueTheBstard

Ruth and Eamonn all day long for me.

The gein twins and the chuckle siblings are not for me.

Glad to see you back on form Sheldon, especially from unwell to bastard and as usual I concur Grin.

Now who is the mystery Bstard? Let me at 'im.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 03/06/2021 12:19

I am here under many guises (but it usually is sheldonesque with an addition to suit my mood!)

I am the B’stard. I am the one who knocks. I am the danger.

And a gobshoite Wink

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 03/06/2021 12:20

For the one with the choppy gob Smile Flowers

BillieSpain · 03/06/2021 12:27

Glad we agree Sheldon! Grin Love RandE

Cannnot stand AandD, I actually get in a very bad mood if they accidently come on for a second.

Hope your parents are feeling better.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 03/06/2021 12:33

They are thank you lovely. Just the usual to manage which is a lot more manageable!

Normal serfice resumed and aye - the spelling is deliberate. Wink

Hope you are keeping fine dear Billie. x

KarensChoppyGob · 03/06/2021 12:43

Grin.

BillieSpain · 03/06/2021 12:45

Coolandclamy · 03/06/2021 13:17

@BrilliantBetty, how is Alison unprofessional?

butterpuffed · 03/06/2021 14:58

Alison is okay in small doses, Dermot is okay on the radio but I don't think it works with them together.

I don't mind Phil and Holly , not sure why they're unpopular on here as they are popular in RL. Think Eammon and Ruth are okay too.

KarensChoppyGob · 03/06/2021 15:48

What do you mean by in RL butter? Do you know them? (Genuine question).

Most public platforms/SM show a similar level of dislike for them if not more than MN.
