Evening Bambinos. Will be watching. Paul Ritter filmed this knowing he wouldn’t be here to see it aired.

Enjoy the squirrel, don’t shit on it though.

plan to watch

PennyRoyal · 28/05/2021 20:50

Just sorting my Friday Night wine to sit down and watch it!

mum2jakie · 28/05/2021 20:51

Thanks for the reminder. Have recorded the 9pm showing on channel 4

CatsPyjama · 28/05/2021 21:45

Yes watching. Heartbreaking watching Paul Ritter giving the interview.

Bloodypunkrockers · 28/05/2021 21:47

Oh I wanted to cry seeing him.

Shit on it

petalpower · 28/05/2021 21:47

So many great moments but sad to see Paul Ritter obviously very unwell.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 28/05/2021 22:19
Sad
viques · 28/05/2021 22:33

Shalom! That was fun.

I wonder what the best episodes are going to be.

I am hoping for Fox in the freezer, Mr Morris and death of Wilson.

That was brilliant but so sad.

lollipoprainbow · 28/05/2021 22:41

So hard to watch. Paul looked so very poorly heartbreaking.

WingingItSince1973 · 28/05/2021 22:43

Oh this will make me cry. Sainsburys have a tshirt with Martins (Paul) face on it. Was so tempted but I think it would make me sad to see it.

ineedaholidaynow · 28/05/2021 22:48

Was so sad to see Paul. Only started to watch Friday Night Dinner during first lockdown but it kept us going and was something teenage DS would deign to watch with us.

BikeRunSki · 28/05/2021 22:49

So bittersweet.
Paul Ritter was brilliant.
Mark Heap is bonkers!

Tamsin Grier’s now- hair is very nice too.

LublinToDublin · 28/05/2021 22:53

Thoroughly enjoyed that, although bitter sweet. Despite Paul Ritter being so ill, it was reassuring that he was so articulate and engaging.
I agree that Mark Heap does seem glorious bonkers.
It seemed that there was a genuine closeness amongst them all.

toomuchfaster · 28/05/2021 22:54

Bugger, missed it. Hoping it's on All4 as I love it. Crimble Crumble to the lovely Paul Ritter.

Serpenta · 28/05/2021 22:56

Really moving seeing Paul Ritter being interviewed. He clearly loved working on the show. They seem like such a lovely gang who got on so well and have such affection for the show.

Tamsin Greig looks so beautiful and luminous!

LagneyandCasey · 28/05/2021 22:57

Oh it was heartbreaking seeing Paul Ritter Sad. He was a genius in the part of Martin and from the way the cast spoke about him obviously a very lovely man. RIP to the grandmas too.

I didn't realise the writer based it on his own family. He's superb.

Tamsin Grieg is getting more beautiful as she ages! I wish I could pull off her funky hair do.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 28/05/2021 23:03

Such a great cast ♥

viques · 28/05/2021 23:52

Two out of three!

Such a perfect sit com, great cast, great scripts.

Can’t get over how they managed to fit a whole crew inside the house.

And as others have said, so very touching to see Paul Ritter, what a brave man, and what a shitting disease.

We've loved Friday Night Dinner for years but I don't think it was till last night I realised just how great the whole show and casting is, it's really been an excellent British comedy.

I am so glad they got to end it on a 'happy' note with it all tied up like they did before the sad passing of Paul Ritter. It wouldn't be right to do anymore now without him.

It was heartbreaking to see him so unwell but I'm so glad he had the chance to appear in it as he clearly wanted to show his love for the show and his character.

covetingthepreciousthings · 29/05/2021 07:27

Yes I was surprised to learn they filmed most of it inside an actual real house! I assumed it would have been sets, but actually I guess it makes more sense for them to have used a house when they did a lot of 'street / driveway scenes' too.

LynetteScavo · 29/05/2021 07:43

I didn't realise there was a series 6!!!

I only started watching properly during lockdown one. Absolutely genius.

Pinuporc · 29/05/2021 08:09

We discovered it in series 6, and then watched the 5 previous series during lockdown.
I would never have recognised Paul Ritter, but glad he was able to still be part of the anniversary programme.

Did Tamsin Greig wear a wig to be Jackie? I'm sure she had short hair in some of the behind the scenes/outtakes.

RevolutionRadio · 29/05/2021 09:10

I've just started watching, I like that Tom Rosenthal is wearing the dragon jumper in his interview!

LynetteScavo · 29/05/2021 09:40

I'm sure Tamsin wears a wig! It ages her by about 20 years!
