Both episodes seem to revolve around the flippin coffee machine and glass cups!!!! How many more times could they have been mentioned?!

And yes, Emma needs to calm the eyebrows. They were too thick Nd too close in the middle. Feel sorry for her because she must have done them herself and no one has said anything to her.

UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 09:37

The whole coffee machine thing was ridiculous. Everyone behaving as if a coffee machine is some new fangled posh invention they’ve never heard of in coronation street when in reality almost every house I know has one.

TellingBone · 25/05/2021 09:59

Just remembered something I meant to post last night. Might not make sense to anyone else but it struck me.

Remember when there was the panic in Yasmeen's living room about the mouse and Ryan came in there was a sort of freeze frame moment with all three women in various attitudes? It reminded me so much of a renaissance painting.

I know. I'll shut up now. Blush

UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 10:02

Oh that scene was so ridiculous @TellingBone! Elaine freezing with her butt mid air off the cycle machine and even when she unfroze she didn’t rest her ass. She carried on with the “ooh look at my bum” pose while she was speaking. Awful.

thenightsky · 25/05/2021 11:02

And Yasmeen seems to have been taking acting tips from Dev these days.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 25/05/2021 13:12

At least Yasmeen isn't taking acting lessons from Ed. That really would be painful.

FantasticButtocks · 25/05/2021 13:27

That Elaine though, shouting like that at whatsername the neurotic hoarder woman! Horrible and rude, and just so shouty! And it's not even actually her house, though she's throwing her weight around like it is. Yasmeen now has another bully living in her house.

UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 13:30

I can’t stand Elaine. She’s long outstayed her welcome on Corrie. She should have left when the Geoff stuff ended. Also can’t stand this golden girls situation they’re trying to forge with Yasmeen, Elaine and Cathy. They don’t gel at all. It’s so forced. End it. Get rid of Elaine. Cathy too.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 25/05/2021 13:39

I liked the scene between Amy & Steve. How did Sam escape? I must have zoned out momentarily.

UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 13:43

I don’t think they actually showed the scene where Sam got free. My understanding was that Sharon phoned her nephew when she saw nick arrive at the platts, and somehow this meant rag and bone man could move the van (with Sam in it) and then must have “discovered” Sam trapped in the back.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 25/05/2021 13:54

Oh thanks UhtredRagnarson I wish I had zoned out at all the Golden Girls/mouse scenes and compostible pods references.

Yes, Elaine is a cf
SophieB100 · 25/05/2021 17:46

I saw a mouse
Where?
Under the chair
Under the chair, right there...

A little mouse with clogs on,
Going, "Oh, I declare
I can't watch no more of this shite"

That's me
Done.

Roussette · 25/05/2021 18:05

I liked the scene between Amy & Steve

I did too. It just seemed so normal

And since when has Amy got all sensible?

Another question because I missed Friday. Does Sam think he was kidnapped or did he just get in a van for some reason?

desperatehousewife21 · 25/05/2021 18:32

God the screeching between Elaine/ Yasmeen/ Cathy I was wincing at the tv, awful.

Also hate Sharon’s annoying ‘heh heh’ laugh throughout every sentence she rasps out through her false teeth.

UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 19:02

Sam thinks he was a silly boy and got in a van he shouldn’t have been in to have a nosey.

One thing I was confused about- sam discovered a plastic bag with a drink, crisps and a shop bought sandwich in it and he ate them. Surely that would strike him as odd? I was waiting for Natasha to say “you must be starving” and him to say “oh no, there was food in the van” and then they would realise it was planned.

Honeyroar · 25/05/2021 20:07

Amy has always been quite sensible when speaking to her dad (but then he’s always playing the pantomime Buttons, so anyone would look sensible next to him), and she’s given quite sensible advice to her mum too, who usually ignores her or argues with her!

Yes I wondered when the food would come up, but it didn’t. I also thought he’d escape through the hatch on the roof when he was looking up at it, but he didn’t!

eggandonion · 25/05/2021 20:37

Poor Sam, blaming himself.

Crazycakelady17 · 25/05/2021 21:01

Honestly I give up with Corrie I only watch now so can snark on here,
The golden girls scenes were atrocious painstaking my daughter is learning her end of y6 play at the moment and I guarantee the acting will be better!

excelledyourself · 25/05/2021 21:08

He did mention the food. Shona told David about it in the pub, just after David said something about how lucky Sam was in general, and so he commented again, something like "see this is what I mean!"
UhtredRagnarson · 25/05/2021 21:26

Ahh. Thank you @excelledyourself- I must have zoned out at that part. Again. That’s happening more and more often these days Hmm Grin

ChildOfFriday · 25/05/2021 21:27

Yes, I think David said that the driver must have forgotten his packed lunch and left it in the van.

eddiemairswife · 25/05/2021 22:41

I was mote interested in what Sam did when he needed a wee.

NCTDN · 25/05/2021 22:45

Sorely the police would have mentioned to his family that Sharon's connection to Harvey?

NCTDN · 25/05/2021 22:46
