So, both Iceland (one of the favourites to win) and the United Kingdom entries have tested positive for Covid and the EBU will use the recording of their songs from the practice session.

Does anyone know if they get through to the Final on Saturday, if they will still use the recorded rehearsal footage or will they be disqualified for some reason?? We are entering uncharted waters here and I'm genuinely interested.

I haven't seen anything about James Newman testing positive (although I have seen his gold outfit which I'm not taken with TBH). It's just Iceland and the current winner as far as I know...

They'll just use the prerecorded (2nd rehearsal) performance for Iceland for the final again. All the acts had to submit 'as live' recorded performances a few weeks back just in case (They had an hour to record 3 performances and then submit the best one), Australia used theirs for the first semi final. No-one will get disqualified over it.

Yes I haven't heard that a UK delegate, or James specifically , has tested positive. His gold outfit is dreadful, please let that not be what they are planning!

Are you absolutely sure you haven’t confused him with Duncan Lawrence, the last winner from the Netherlands, who’s just tested positive? Duncan Lawrence does sound a lot more like the name of a UK entrant than a Dutch one tbh.

Icelandic and Polish people have tested positive for Covid. As far as I am aware U.K. are fine.

No I read that Duncan L had tested positive, and couldn't perform live tonight, and that the UK and Iceland had positive tests too.

I can't find it now. I'm wondering if I imagined it somehow. It's been a long day 🤔
