My favourite was Lithuania. I quite liked the Australian. DD liked Russia and Ukraine. She was disappointed Croatia didn't make it through. Ten who went through from best to worst...

1- Lithuanian dancing James Corden and gang were stupidly catchy
2- Russian matryoshka doll girl power on heelies was epic
3- Ukranian Chernobyl fever dream speeding up was cray cray
4- Cypriot we got a hot girl formula and we're sticking with it amusing
5 - Belgian boots was okay but won't win
6- Malta's own brand Lizzo's je me casse mama cass Nettaesque
7- Israeli medusa is cracking more mirrors than Minnie Riperton
8- Smiley Silver Swedish dude's song is Swedish for meh
9- Azerbaijan's Ariana Grande but shriller
10- Norwegian fallen angel Tix? more like Tixylix

I am disappointed Croatia didn’t go through, but I really like Sweeden and Malta. I didn’t think Ireland was that bad, better if you closed your eyes.

While we wait for Thursday, what are people's thoughts on the proposed American Song Contest where 50 states compete for the trophy?

Apparently it's happening in 2022. For me the magic of Eurovision is the clash of so many cultures, the absolutely wacky outfits and performances, the variety and of course the multiple languages!

I fear that the American version will just be plaid shirts and cowboy boots and they would take it SOOOOO SERIOUSLY, removing the fun of it all!

I can see it becoming an American Idol type competition and all republican states voting for each other!

@NatMoz, I agree that the Americanovision or whatever it's called will have political voting, but the states are pretty diverse overall I think. Hawaii doesn't compare with Idaho, or California with Texas!

I agree if it just becomes American idol it will be dull. I'd want to see some blue grass, country, First Nations music, cajun, punk, stadium rock, and no bloody Disney pop.

A member of the Iceland group has tested positive for Covid so they will be using a pre record tomorrow for their entry. They’re one of the favourites and were ROBBED last year so I hope this doesn’t knock their chances.

I'm gutted for them, although of course the important thing is their health and I hope whoever it is (as they haven't said) doesn't get too ill.

It really is a shame for them, to get so close to the live performances.

Can confirm the dance isn’t easy. DH and I have the sweatshirts and have been rehearsing it since last year. It’s going to be our interval entertainment for when some friends come for a mini Eurovision party on Saturday 😆😆

Greetings all! This is my favourite time of the year.

I thought Croatia would be in the final and Norway or maybe Azerbaijan would sink into oblivion they deserve, but heyho.

I love Italy's entry this year, also Ukraine, Iceland (fingers crossed the recorded version will be ok), Russia, and I think the UK has a nice one.

Sorry to all the Ireland fans out there and all my fellow Irish people, but I thought Ireland sucked. Jedward are looking better and better as the years roll by.

I’ve rewatched last nights semi. Oh dear, Ireland’s staging when compared to every other competitor was just woeful!
