Approaching end of binge and don't know what to binge next - help!

I ALWAYS feel like this and I always struggle to choose what to watch next.

Currently on season 16 of greys anatomy on Disney+ I could watch station 19 which recently landed or buy private practice on Amazon which I am tempted to do but don't know if I'd love them as much as greys and I'd just be annoyed

Other options are the resident also on Disney or ER on all4 or other medical dramas not sure I want another medical one right now though.

Usually I like crime dramas - police procedurals mostly like ncis, criminal minds etc

But feel like I want something lighter but NOT a comedy per se.

I like the lighter touches in greys, ditto dramas like white collar and lie to me which are dramas but with comedic elements, huge fan of Gilmore girls which I've not watched in a while too and may revisit also parenthood (the series), also a huge fan of charmed, I tried supernatural and Grimm as along similar lines but just didn't really like them.

I like conspiracy type stuff too, Cold War, spy stuff but I'm not sure I fancy that at the moment

Toward the end of a binge I feel like "I just want more of this" which of course isn't possible

I'm lucky enough to have Netflix, prime, Disney+ and I can buy on Amazon too if it's something I think or know I like, I'm housebound so bills and this are all I spend my money on at the moment really.

So... Please hit me with your favourite dramas with a comedy touch?

Why Women Kill (by Desperate Housewives showrunner/writer)
Search Party
Good Trouble

Selfcarequeereyestyle · 25/05/2021 13:40

Scandal - the first couple of series more than the end.
The Good Wife
The Rookie
SWAT

Ylfa · 25/05/2021 13:46

For All Mankind (on Apple I think) is really good - alternative outcome to space race/Cold War in which the Russians are the first to land on the moon, advancing women’s rights by decades

ThomasHardyPerennial · 25/05/2021 13:51

I started watching Elementary recently, currently on season 2 (bought all the DVDs on eBay). I'm really enjoying it!

Schitt's Creek on netflix is easy watching and just brilliantly out together.

New Girl is fun and there's lots of it! Was on Netflix, think it's on Disney+ now

Justified on amazon - very entertaining, it's a crime drama set in Kentucky

@MintyCedric

Firefly Lane is just beautiful...poignant, funny, heartbreaking...can't wait for season 2.

Succession...Dynasty meets Wolf of Wall Street...brilliant but shocking in parts, some of the characters are wild!

Obviously Unforgotten and Line of Duty if you haven't already. Really enjoyed The Split with Nicola Walker as well.

Motherland

Succession is fucking fantastic. Can't wait for the next series

@rubberplants I know...I am desperate to find out where Gerri and Roman go next...don't really give a toss about the business empire tbh!

HappyHappyHippocampus · 25/05/2021 19:40

The Marvellous Mrs Maisel! If you love Gilmore Girls you will not be disappointed.

HappyHappyHippocampus · 25/05/2021 19:41

Or go for Inside No 9

TealAndTurquoise · 26/05/2021 21:23

@Graphista if you like spy stuff then watch Alias on Disney+. It's got a great cast (Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper before they got really famous).

thanks for all the suggestions I do keep coming back to the thread even if I don't post. I've ended up settling on rewatching Castle for now as was finding it hard to settle to anything and when I've been in that frame of mind before if I try and watch something completely new to me I falsely think I dislike it because of the contrary mood!

Body of proof is dropping on 11th june on disney so I am hoping Castle will do me till then (also audio books and radio) and then I can watch that, which I have watched a few episodes before and liked but I've not watched it properly from the beginning LOVE Dana Delaney

The Americans is also coming to disney in june, so by then I might be in the mood for that, unless anyone can recommend 'summery' themed series? Glee is one I might try, dd used to like it back in the day.

I try and check new arrivals on netflix and prime too and of course theres also the free streaming like iplayer which I've found is pretty good for golden oldie films.

I love good summery films too, escapism.

I'm also watching Marvel movies in order, some I've seen some I missed first go around for various reasons, with a view to watching Wandavision and I'm planning a Star Wars refresh/update to watch The mandalorian, I'm far more familiar with the original trilogy than the newer releases.

If I'm honest the dream would be 240 episodes of a deadpool series with Ryan Reynolds but...never gonna happen

Cutting It has been my fave lockdown box set to rewatch.

Pineapplemonkey · 26/05/2021 22:56

I am a huge Grey’s fan. There are 3 you would definitely not be disappointed in, Private Practice, Scandal and Brothers and Sisters.

The first one focuses on Addison from Greys, the second has about 90% of Grey’s actors in it and the third has Rob Lowe.

Snappyteabread · 29/05/2021 17:21

@Krook

Good Girls is great (Netflix) but I've never found anyone else who's seen it Grin
I've seen it and loved it too!
Ozymandias101 · 29/05/2021 17:53

The Magicians is a great binge. It starts off seeming like a kids show, but very quickly gets pretty sexy and completely bonkers. I loved all 5 seasons, and it had one of the best endings I've ever seen to a multi season show.

HSHorror · 29/05/2021 18:21

Criminal minds
The wilds
Panic
Fringe
Chuck
Dollhouse

I sort of mix between
Teen /medical/sci fi/comedy/crime

Awesome

milinhas · 29/05/2021 18:26

You haven’t mentioned you’ve seen it when previously posted so if you haven’t definitely Scandal! Or Private Practice which is good in its own right.

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/05/2021 18:31

Succession
If you want something that's light hearted similar to Schitts Creek and the office then try Parks and Rec.
Set in the parks and recreation department of local government in Pawnee, Indiana.
Excellent characters and very cleverly written.

Aspiringmatriarch · 29/05/2021 18:36

What about (re)watching Buffy? I think it's been on Prime recently. House, Scandal, Good Girls, Dirty John, Sweet Magnolias, Jane the Virgin - all entertaining but not overly demanding American shows I've enjoyed lately as I don't seem to have the bandwidth for anything more than that.
