So- are we to assume the parents were divorced, the mother has now died, and the son has moved back with the dad- in the very clean, white house?

I haven't watched Doctors since Zara and Sid got it on but caught some of it today. I see that standards have not slipped and it is as gripping as ever. Is Rob heading for an affair with his younger colleague?
