@Fairyliz

Anyone else wondering how much James Nesbitt got paid for supplying two holiday snaps?
It had gone through my mind, I must admit . . .
Vickles20 · 02/05/2021 23:06

All that bloody build up and hype... for that?!?! Really disappointed. And a bit pissed of .

PomLikeTheBattle · 02/05/2021 23:07

That I would have liked to see !

PomLikeTheBattle · 02/05/2021 23:07

Sorry that was re the prison officers

tecatea · 02/05/2021 23:07

Seriously though, what top amazing series thats been massively hyped has ever had a good final episode?

Zero? I think it's impossible to live up to the hype but credit is due in that many didn't see this ending coming considering all the analysis & dissection.
Jed probably wants a break & a clean slate so if he does do another series this way it doesn't have to be so intertwined with all the past ones.

EvilOnion · 02/05/2021 23:08

@Fairyliz, I think Jed has said that they took the photos on the Bloodlands set during filming because James said he was a massive fan so probably not any extra fee.

Cherrysoup · 02/05/2021 23:08

Very disappointed!

tecatea · 02/05/2021 23:09

Them coming down like superheroes in the lift was cringe.

yeah I laughed at that

unique1986 · 02/05/2021 23:09

Anyone else feel like it was a random ep and not a final.
Flat as a pancake .
No spark or chemistry as above and lacked numbers in the cast for atmosphere.
I felt there would be some twist at the end to say and the real Final is next week surprise!!

Ilovemypantry · 02/05/2021 23:10

@PeskyRooksRGT

It was Susanne Jones *@STGDisAnEvilWolefGenius* from Doctor Foster
Suranne Jones
ChequerBoard · 02/05/2021 23:10

How was Buckells getting access to a laptop and the internet from his secure prison cell??

There is no Wi-fi in a prison! Internet access is highly secured and locked down to the absolute bare minimum necessary to complete legitimate tasks.

tecatea · 02/05/2021 23:11

We could have at least seen those two corrupt prison officers getting shanked in their cells, the bitches!

🤣🤣 true!

JudgeJ · 02/05/2021 23:11

That Buckell's wasn't a criminal mastermind.
That's how he got away with it, because he was an over promoted idiot

But someone must have been responsible for his promotion, such as Osborne. Buckell is the patsy, being sacrificed to cover up for the others.

Clawdy · 02/05/2021 23:12

Would have been nice to see what happened to the horrible women warders at the end.

tecatea · 02/05/2021 23:12

There is no Wi-fi in a prison!

I'm sure there is, don't they get dongles

Egghead68 · 02/05/2021 23:12

I liked it

JustLyra · 02/05/2021 23:13

@unique1986

40k disappointing comments on twitter. Shame as wanted to see ratings keep rising next series... past the peak obv. Maybe the writer just needs to start a fresh series we can get our teeth sucked into? Dare I say the dialogue became repetitive very quickly at times this series.
The new bbc police show set on/involving the submarine is Jed Mercurio

It’s got Martin Compston (with his own accent) abd Suranne Jones in it.

Be interesting to see if it grabs people like LOD did

Zandathepanda · 02/05/2021 23:13

I can’t remember why Ted was given that money last series? Didn’t he say something about selling a property in the Cayman Islands. Then wasn’t there a Cayman Islands reference tonight as well?

PeskyRooksRGT · 02/05/2021 23:13

I know ilovemypantry it was me auto correct wot done it!

BeaLola · 02/05/2021 23:13

I wanted it to be Jo by the end - final scene showing her in Witness protection and then putting files/something away, making a call which makes you realise it's her - she's her Fathers daughter and made them all believe she was coerced when really she was orchestrating it all

Ilovemypantry · 02/05/2021 23:13

Someone please put me out of my misery....was Buckles “H”? And why was Kate at OH?

peachgreen · 02/05/2021 23:14

It could have been Osborne. It wouldn't have been a surprise but it would have tied in really nicely to S1E1, especially if there has been some reveal about the fuck up with the door numbers being deliberate on Osborne's part somehow. What a load of old bollocks. Buckells, for fuck's sake. I get the wider point Jed is making about the dangers of incompetents but honestly, what a load of old shite. This season has been completely pointless. And what was the stuff about Fairbanks all about?!

GillBungalow · 02/05/2021 23:14

The prison officers being marched at gunpoint with their hands up was comedy gold. I imagine a director saying 'so can you give us 'pissed off'. Give it your best 'pissed off' face. That's beautiful babe, work it'

Do suspects even get marched at gunpoint? Surely they get marched a very short distance to safety and then get cuffed?

Frazzled2207 · 02/05/2021 23:15

The den of geek link posted above is useful but again it says that it was an hour and a half long which makes me think we simply missed half an hour!

EsmaCannonball · 02/05/2021 23:15

The Wire was utterly brilliant at exposing institutional failure. Line of Duty is a completely different kind of police series and I have completely different expectations of it. I want a few thrills and shocks and whizzbangs. I want to think, 'Mother of god, I never saw that coming!'
