Hope you all don’t mind, getting near the end of thread 7, so thought I’d trot this one out!

That's the one I got wrong. Remember the scene clearly, just hadn't remembered the number.

Confusedandshaken · 30/04/2021 12:33

I'm not sure how relevant it is but I'm suspicious of Jo's mum. We are assuming the Tommy raped her but she could have been the aggressor and coerced her younger brother into sex. She could also have been the driver in forcing her copper partner, Tommy and later Jo into working for the OCG. Also, is she really dead? Or is she hiding out somewhere pulling strings from a distance? It would explain why Jo is so angry with her.

iklboo · 30/04/2021 12:37

@quirkychick - apparently US audiences got a bit confused & thought he was calling her 'mum'. Which complicated things a bit Grin

Constantcrayfish · 30/04/2021 12:40

I think thinking her mother killed herself would justify the anger.

quirkychick · 30/04/2021 12:57

iklboo Grin a whole other meaning!

FreezerBird · 30/04/2021 13:34

Is anyone else a bit concerned about Carmichael's "I'm not gullible, but I am pragmatic" comment to Kate?

Clearly it's a 'we all know you shot Ryan' situation but it also potentially gives Carmichael a hold over Kate. I don't think C is bent, but she seems to have a very strong personal loyalty to Osbourne, who is benter than a nine bob note, so it amounts to the same thing.

Anyway it was a PCC decision so I don't know how much leverage it would give C over Kate but the implied 'I know what you did' worried me a bit.

Mind you, there's only one episode for this to play out so maybe this is only relevant if there's another series.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/04/2021 13:40

Remember Jo saying that Tommy held the original OCG together but, since his death, they have split into disparate OCGs?

So AC12 can wrap up the OCG and H in this series but still leave plenty of splinter OCGs and Bent Coppers to go after in the future.

There was no need to mention it otherwise.

PomLikeTheBattle · 30/04/2021 13:41

Tommy at 13 couldn’t really force his sister to go through with the pregnancy, although could have been the senior figures. But didn’t jo say it was Tommy who forced her mum ?

I think the Guardian writers have been following these threads Grin

Buggerthebotox · 30/04/2021 13:55

I think the comment about smaller OCGs forming splinters is relevant: it suggests that both bentness and OCGs can continue long after LOD has finished and H is identified (if s/he actually is identified).

Has anyone been watching Bent Coppers and the OCG programme on bbc2? Strong suggestions that OCGs develop even after the big cheeses are imprisoned/ die particular if younger relatives are brought in. Like Tommy and his son, and Jo of course.

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 14:02

@FreezerBird or you could interpret Carmichael's "not gullible but pragmatic" comment to be approving of Kate's actions.

You could take it further and say it's a coded message to Kate if she's deep undercover and Carmichael is her handler.

IntermittentParps · 30/04/2021 14:16

I think Carmichael said the "I'm not gullible, but I am pragmatic" thing to let Kate know she's on to her but will let it slide until or unless she needs to use it.
In other words, IMO it's a common or garden threat. I tend not to think that Kate is that deep undercover
.

shyposter · 30/04/2021 14:25

If both Buckles and Jo have denied being the ones that transferred Ryan into the MIT (and we take their statements at face value) - why have AC12 not tried to investigate who did instigate the transfer - surely that would lead them either directly to whoever is running the show - or at least another cog in the OCG machine?

BentBastard · 30/04/2021 15:58

I remembered the evidence one because the whole reason she had to change it was she misheard the SOCO at the scene thirty/thirteen..

CheekyWeeShite · 30/04/2021 16:19

So excited - just mocked up my first riso prints which I’ve been meaning to do for ages, but LoD has inspired me to actually get some done. Can’t wait to see how they come out - the pink will be fluorescent and I think they’re going to look fab!

Back to the programme, I expect it’s already been mentioned but Thurwell was name checked as being in charge of the Oliver Stevens-Lloyd investigation. I knew we’d seen his name on reports before but hadn’t remembered he was in charge of that.

Also 90% sure Kate didn’t kill Ryan. She said to Jo “now Ryan’s dead and I’m in the frame for it”, which would be a weird thing to say if you’ve murdered someone.

Reckon we might see a flashback and it was actually Thurwell or Osborne? 😂

Oops sorry, didn’t mean to post that first one!

MrsRLynde · 30/04/2021 16:31

I think Terry Boyle is going to do something brave which goes on to resolve the whole story arc.

MrsRLynde · 30/04/2021 16:39

Revealing his collection of photographs which will turn out to hold the key. I actually had a dream about this. Blush

CheekyWeeShite · 30/04/2021 16:43

I would love Terry to be the one to bring it all down. I was really hoping he would be the one to out Ryan. Killing off Ryan when they did cut off a lot of interesting plot possibilities which is why I think we’ll be coming back to his death.

Buggerthebotox · 30/04/2021 17:13

I think Terry's significant too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 17:15

Yes the photos on his phone and didn’t he take notes as well

Phone will show who H is

AnnieHooo · 30/04/2021 17:39

That would be brilliant if Terry has been gathering the evidence.

30not13 · 30/04/2021 17:42

I can't believe you got the Roz evidence number wrong, it's been my (largely unnoticed) LOD name for all this time!

Anyway all I can say today is that I'm glad Noel Clarke isn't in LOD.

Can you imagine? What on earth would they do?

I'm also hoping nothing at all happens to the Queen. Stay safe, Ma'am.

Buggerthebotox · 30/04/2021 17:53

Some great theories on Shrine this week, including Roisin being the body found with Thur well (if it's Thur well) in Spain. Tbf she did say she'd met someone else, didn't she?

I wonder if they were living in the Kettlebell complex? Grin. Nige is there too, shacked up with Gill Biggeloe perhaps?
