Anyone else finding this series of Line of Duty utterly dull?

Aside from a few exciting scenes it's been one long stream of boring, long drawn out interviews. I know my attention span isn't great these days but it's really really slow, maybe covid restrictions has placed limitations on filming?

I actually don’t think it’s been very good at all since the end of series three. So convoluted and “oh well Dave Smith appeared for 5 minutes at the end of episode 27 and said Tommy Button was Les Fowler’s half brother so that must mean H is Vicky McClure’s ex husband.” I’m past caring tbh.

Yep same here the first 3 series were absolutely great now am so confused and bored exactly same old same old

I’m the same TBH, I haven’t given a shit who H or the 4th man or whatever is for a few series now and this series Ted has become a caricature of himself.

I agree, I'm still watching as I feel like I'm too invested but this has to be the last series.

Yep this is the worst season by far. Apart from the bit where we wondered if Kate got shot and the picture where everyone was trying to see who it was the whole thing has been shite. And that’s hard for me to say because I’m a huge, huge fan and have watched the whole thing quite a few times now from season one.

Seasons 1-3 were the best in my opinion.

I wish they’d drop all this H/fourth man stuff, it’s making it too convoluted. Just have stand-alone seasons where they’re solving particular cases.

I actually fell asleep last night!

Although, obviously we’re still watching it. It feels like if we weren’t still partly locked down there’d be much less hype about it. Like we’re in a collective fog of false enthusiasm.

Having said that Anna Maxwell Martin is absolutely brilliant - she makes me so angry whenever she’s on screen

The death of that character was totally underplayed, why not search their house? Why did the others run off?

Agreed. It’s completely overacted and I’ve cringed hard in so many places.

When you think of the first series with Lenny James it’s like night and day.

Totally agree. I lost interest ages ago when I could see it was going round in circles.

I don't think it's controversial to know that not everyone likes the same stuff!!

yes, that death should here been looked at rather more, as his tech at least might contain clues. Perhaps Chloë's on to it?

People rave about it but I think it's like watching paint dry. Slowly.

It has. Seems to have believed its own Twitter hype and has become an overdone, over acted (including constant darting eyes and hard stares) farce.

Such a shame. It was so clever and compelling at the start but it has really lost its way with Carmichael caricatures and Kate's bizarre behaviour with 'they're framing us' weirdness.

I think Jed needs to go back to the drawing board with any new endeavours and try a less is more approach in my expert critic opinion. Those baddie prison guards too 🙄. I was half expecting someone to shout 'she's behind you!' Like a bad panto.

I’m enjoying it still. I didn’t like the series with Thandiwe Newton - I thought the business with the chain saw and manky arm was too horror movie ish. But I think this series and series 5 have been worth watching. The Lindsay Denton and Dot Cottan days were the highlight for me though.
