Lantanacamara · 11/04/2021 11:33

Looking forward to this, thanks for starting a new thread.

needadvice54321 · 11/04/2021 11:35

Ooh good! I love a revisited programme

I watch Escape to the country and it drives me mad if we don't get told at the end what happened. An hour invested for nothing AngryGrinGrinGrin

jay55 · 11/04/2021 12:06

Thanks for the heads up. I always prefer wanted down under revisited to the original shows.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2021 13:35

Lovely to see the 'poor' couple doing so well, especially with the woman being able to set herself up in her own business. Ironic that the 'rich' couple ended up struggling due to the pandemic.

aleC4 · 11/04/2021 22:01

Lovely story tonight, really happy for the couple, but I bet there's not many that turn out like that.

MrsBooks · 11/04/2021 22:05

Is it just me that questioned the rich couples business plan? Selling information / get rich quick schemes always seem a bit fishy to me. Especially putting a £30k price tag on some training...

Fair play to them, whatever they're doing seems to be working!!

rainbowlou · 11/04/2021 22:08

Did I hear right in the beginning that the youngest child in the rich house was his grandchild?

needadvice54321 · 11/04/2021 22:31

@rainbowlou

Did I hear right in the beginning that the youngest child in the rich house was his grandchild?
Didn't he say he grew up with his grandad?
aleC4 · 11/04/2021 22:35

Yes they did say she was his grand daughter. It wasn't made clear where her mum was of if she lived with them all the time.

rainbowlou · 11/04/2021 22:45

@needadvice54321 he did say he was brought up by his grandad but also at the beginning it said they lived with their daughter and his granddaughter.

I wonder if he has custody of her as it seemed a bit strange they’d take her on the experiment if they didn’t?

AvaAvocado · 11/04/2021 23:49

The whole last series seemed to be the rich ones 'mentoring', very strange. I mean who would pay him 30 grand to tell them to visualise being rich? Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2021 18:18

too tired to watch last night

nice they managed to turn their life around

assume this series will show all the families in previous series doing the same as all had mentoring

OP posts:
jay55 · 12/04/2021 20:22

I do feel very, very cynical on these. Really feels like the poor couple are being used as a look what can happen if you spend £30k on our seminars advert.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2021 20:47

Tho the rich couple were losing £21k a month over lockdown /covid

OP posts:
Tangledtresses · 12/04/2021 20:51

I watched it all last night and it was absolute crap ... they all clearly knew each other and was very obvious 🙄

needadvice54321 · 18/04/2021 21:31

Anyone watched tonight's one?

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/04/2021 21:35

No on at 10

Doing like of duty

OP posts:
inmyslippers · 20/04/2021 21:00

Yes, the beautician one? I stopped watching the original series. Poverty porn was depressing to watch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2021 22:12

Finally seen. This was the perm make up artist

Tho said she only could work one day a week due to childcare

Assume her toddler would have got 30hrs free at 2

So could have worked

But yes she has her own business now. Good for her

OP posts:
inmyslippers · 20/04/2021 22:15

I wondered that, she would have got at least 15 hours and universal credit pays 80% of childcare.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2021 07:06

I honestly think some people just don’t want to work

Esp if get rent paid for other ways

Often on rhph they have a couple who have young children so mum
Doesn’t work

As childcare costs too much

I get that

But

Why can’t the mum work a few evenings /nights as cleaner for offices or in a shop

My friend did that. Think was 7-12 and 6-1 - 2 nights a week for think 4/5yrs while kids small
