Did anyone watch this?

I felt stressed watching! The house looked fab when it was finished. We all need to borrow the carpenter... he was amazing at up cycling! Loved the shoe drawers.

Part of her argument with the toys was that some of what they were getting rid of was new and it was rude to throw it away because it had been bought for them by somebody.

SingToTheSky · 06/04/2021 11:52

Seems interesting! Definitely watching this

Wafflehouse · 06/04/2021 12:01

I liked the drawer stairs and the way they reused or repurposed what they already had but not sure that spray painting the lids of food containers was a great idea, or maybe I missed what sort of spray paint they used.

Cocolapew · 06/04/2021 12:01

I agreed with her on the toys as well, especially saying the 3 year old will say to get rid of them then look for them once at home!

the80sweregreat · 06/04/2021 14:24

I didn't like the stair drawers ; nice idea and the marking machine was fab, but it felt a bit unsafe to me!
They did have so much stuff. I tend to chuck things out, so the idea of keeping old locks of hair or missing teeth or whatever doesn't appeal to me. However, we still have a garage and loft full of things so I still tend to hold on to too much ( just not baby things)
They did have a nice house and obviously wealthy to be able to buy it all for the children.
Stacey is funny. I've always liked her .

Potpourriandpennysweets · 06/04/2021 15:10

I just don't get keeping old teeth and hair and things like that. I have too much stuff but it's all stuff that is useful in someway. I do wish I Could do this with my house though and see just how many pairs of scissors, tweezers, nail clippers etc we have. I'm not sure I have ever thrown any of those Away yet I seem to buy them often!

the80sweregreat · 06/04/2021 15:17

My dusty loft and garage would take up a lot of space in that warehouse! Most of it is dh's though. He has two hobbies that take up lots of room.
He must keep old cds and books that he doesn't read or watch too.
Seeing it all laid out like that would be interesting to see. It was very well organized I thought.

Cocolapew · 06/04/2021 17:11

I never go in my roof space its jammed packed with shite. Included in the piles of tat are a cot, (my youngest is 19) and a life size cardboard cutout of Mike Scott from The Waterboys Blush

Made me laugh! I wonder what Stacey Solomon would say about that ? Must be a waterboys fan somewhere who would buy it? You might make a few bob!
HouseyHouse21 · 08/04/2021 13:49

I've just caught this on iPlayer. Adorable kids. The team did a great job, but it is also a much larger house than most people have. Tash clearly had hoarding tendencies so wasn't being rational which I always find a bit frustrating to watch, but I get that that's the whole point of the show!

Chewbecca · 08/04/2021 13:58

I caught this and was boggled about the amount of stuff they had when it was all laid out.
I loved the storage improvements they made to their home, though most didn't feel achievable!

I'd like to see a re-visited in a year or so!

Is it a regular programme? It could be.

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2021 14:08

I found it hard to believe they sorted the house and put everything back in one day. The carpenter is brilliant.

Rummikub · 08/04/2021 15:03

I liked the show. The stair drawers looked fab!
The carpenter was great.

RaraRachael · 08/04/2021 16:54

I like Stacey. She seems a nice genuine girl. I loved her striped jumper. Any idea where it was from?
3000 toys???
The mum seemed to be sentimentally attached to so much stuff. It would be interesting to return and see if they had kept it up.
I didn't like the stair shoe tidy idea Hmm

Rummikub · 08/04/2021 17:50

Why not keen on the stair shoe drawers?
I’m seriously thinking of getting this. What haven’t I considered?

My house is small and a tip and any extra storage places are necessary!

RedactedTaeFeck · 08/04/2021 18:56

I've seen stair drawers done better I think (especially in those tiny home type of programmes), obviously time was pressured but they didn't seem to maximise the available space and the drawers seemed pretty small. They would also eat into the cupboard space under the stairs. I think they could have simply fitted out the cupboard better and stored the shoes where they were.

TokyoSushi · 08/04/2021 19:06

Yes! I loved it! I got the impression that the mum had hoarding tenancies though and it might end up back as it was.

I think that was a pilot and now it's been commissioned for some more episodes in the autumn.

Cocolapew · 08/04/2021 20:21

Oh I was hoping it was a series Sad.
It was a little bit contrived, rushing around with no time to spare and loads to do and the bottom falling out of a bag of stuff, but all shows do that.
Stacey had very white teeth.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 09/04/2021 11:02

I wouldn’t want to put wet / dirty shoes in the shoe drawer so they would still be in the way. Shoe racks are probably better if you have enough space.

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2021 11:05

Stacey's teeth are incredible. She is very attractive and her and Joe seem so sweet together.
The format was a bit different , but I prefer' filthy house sos ' with the lovely Brennon and Richard.
Brennon can come over and clean my cooker any time! They are also so nice and respectful to the people they help as well.
I'm not a horder , but I can appreciate how difficult it is for some people to let go of things.
It can be hard.

RaraRachael · 09/04/2021 11:43

Thanks Wafflehouse - sadly I'm not a size 6 Grin

BrieAndChilli · 09/04/2021 12:06

i missed the beginning but wish I had signed up to this programme - we have just moved house and having them do all the sorting/painting/upcycling for me would have been amazing Grin
I have made sure that everything has a place in the new house - it was amazing how we went form never finding a charger and everyone stealing everyone elses to now having a dedicated drawer full of plugs and cables!!

Potpourriandpennysweets · 09/04/2021 14:49

@the80sweregreat

I love Filthy House SOS

Brennon seems so genuinely lovely.

I am so obsessed with tidying and organising shows.

Anyone know of anymore?

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2021 15:18

There are a few old horder programmes on five i player and a few old filthy house ones.
I found a new series of filthy house the other day! Brennon was looking adorable in his white overalls.
