Brothers & Sisters..... Prime

Currently re watching Brothers and Sisters on Prime and on Season 2.

I don’t remember much when I first watched it, but it really does look very different in 2021.

Firstly I don’t remember how bloody privileged they all are. They don’t really work and businesses on the brink of debt, but so much spa days, copious amounts of wine and a heated swimming pool.

Mum is deeply passive aggressive and manipulative - the family have literally no boundaries ( I could never imagine discussing with my mum and all my siblings the first time I had sex)

Let’s not even get started on the mistress and not quite illegitimate child.

My goodness this is a pile of shit!

I love the long lost sister in The Resident. Shes done really well.

Yes, I like her too. I love The Resident, I’m waiting for series 4 of it to show over here. Conrad is lovely. ❤️

I recall the scene where the sistersplayed by Calista F and Rachel G end up at a high school party and get caught by the boy’s mum. And when Mathew Rhys’ character’s boyfriend turned out to be a vicar. Some funny moments. It lost the plot towards the end, though.

I loved this! And was totally gutted when it was cancelled. Am going to rewatch!

She was the lead in Revenge a few years back. Now that was bonkers telly. I loved it Wink

Revenge was off the wall Grin

But love the resident, but cannot get past Conrad as a bad boy - he is the lovely chap from Gilmour Girls lol

I fell out with Emily Van Camp when she kissed my husband to be Captain America ( but that also gave me the ick because it was after the funeral for Aunt Peggy)

I am going to watch this again when I've finished re watching The West Wing. Time does date these shows. It's funny to see the sexism, never mind the old technology, but it is such brilliant tele.

MasterOfOne · 09/04/2021 10:57

Ahh the West Wing is my next adventure into the past (or ER haven't quite made up my mind!)

Is it still as good as I remember??

DarceyDashwood · 09/04/2021 21:36

We are currently rewatching 24 now it’s all on Disney+. It has dated quite a lot (fair enough season 1 was almost 20 Years ago!) but it’s still really enjoyable!

DarceyDashwood · 09/04/2021 21:37

The West Wing is still brilliant

Goatsdorhone · 09/04/2021 21:45

So glad I found this thread. Have been rewatching on Prime but wish they'd ended it with season 4...5 is just so random, perhaps because some of the characters wanted to leave the show/didn't get contracts renewed so it's a bit contrived?

Xmasbaby11 · 09/04/2021 22:17

I used to love Brothers and Sisters! I could never understand why it wasn't more popular. Great cast and addictive story! It definitely tailed off but the first few series were great.

coodawoodashooda · 10/04/2021 02:20

E. R. That was tremendous.

Flittingaboutagain · 10/04/2021 03:02

I really loved this the first time but I don't doubt like many others it might not have aged well...but OP you've got me excited to watch it again! There was something warm and appealing about this dysfunctional family I was drawn to watching.

I also went onto watch Revenge after this.

MasterOfOne · 10/04/2021 17:57

I don't know what it is about Brothers and Sisters that makes it so binge-able Grin

ER is next on the list..... I really got into Greys Anatomy.... but they have literally killed off all their original cast I just cant with it anymore......

Agh I got addicted to this on prime, got halfway through series 2, and now it’s suddenly not free with prime anymore Angry I hate when they do this. Does anyone know anywhere else you can watch this or do I need to go old school and order a dvd box set?!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 03/05/2021 07:00

Just binged Brothers and Sisters for the first time, a load of tosh but loved it!

Watched This is Us before this so wouldn't have noticed 'Justin' - who did the actor play?

Now looking for something similar to binge

mogloveseggs · 03/05/2021 07:06

@TenRays it's on Disney plus

titsintiers · 03/05/2021 07:22

I've been watching this too, but it has to be paid for now 🤬

I was loving it though, easy watching with a really great cast. I didn't realise Holly and David are married in real life.
