Did anyone watch this?
That man saying he's sad about his Tiger dying but he kept referring to the tiger as 'it' not her or she 😕

And the man training all those wild animals for Tele! 😮
Didn't know that was possible

People have been training wild animals for the circus and entertainment for hundreds of years.....

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/04/2021 14:58

What channel is it on?

purpleme12 · 02/04/2021 14:59

That is true

Clearly having a blonde moment aren't I
Anyway still impressive to see it done

Thanks, will watch shortly.

I disliked the show jumper bloke the most. Seemed to have the worst facilities, and gave the impression of being a spoilt brat who thought he should have anything he wanted. Pity his neighbours, as I imagine he'll get more animals just to show them he can.

purpleme12 · 02/04/2021 15:17

I found it quite fascinating

Them kissing the lion and putting their face in their fur like a normal moggie 😳

I thought the same. He wants hyenas next and his facilities simply don't look fit for purpose.
Furries · 05/04/2021 01:20

The guy training them for tv etc I could kind of “forgive”. The facilities looked good and at least they were stimulated.

The horse guy was a prize dickhead. His mum was a blooming nightmare too.

Spent most of the whole programme growling at the tv “they don’t want to be 8n fucking cages you idiots”. Don’t care how much they thought it was “lovely” kissing them through the wire etc. It’s no way for them to be kept. Should absolutely be banned - human intervention should only be in the form of large wildlife reserves where they can try to live a fairly normal existence. Keeping them coupled up in those cages is bloody awful.

Furries · 05/04/2021 01:21

Cooped, not coupled!

Redact · 05/04/2021 10:19

Yes, agree about the horse jumper. He seems to be over indulged by his Mum and will get more animals just because he can. His facilities are not adequate and I can see why his neighbours are so concerned. Him in his hot tub right next to the lions cages ConfusedThe other facilities that we saw were all better than his. I still can't get my head around why those people want to keep Tigers and Lions as pets though

Spied · 05/04/2021 10:23

The guy with the horses actually looked like some kind of cat to me. I really think he'd had some work. It was his eyes.

purpleme12 · 06/04/2021 11:39

Thanks @purpleme12 for directing me to this thread!

I'm still Shock at this show. These people shouldn't be owning wild animals!!

I agree with PP, the show jumping bloke was the worst. Poor animals 🙁

WhatsTheEffingPoint · 06/04/2021 21:24

Is anyone watching the 2nd episode now ?
40 snakes in a mid terrace house.....nope If I was a neighbour I would be moving out.

purpleme12 · 06/04/2021 21:29

yes watching it now

OP posts:
Choccy21 · 06/04/2021 21:33

Is it right that Gary has 40 snakes in a mid terrace house? Can’t help but feel it’s too many for a small house.

WhatsTheEffingPoint · 06/04/2021 22:25

@Choccy21 yup that's what he added it up to, so many where just in storage boxes not proper vivariums, how can he say that's good for them ?
Listening to all of them, they were so blinded by their 'love' of the animals they they couldn't /wouldnt see that it would be best turn them over to proper sanctuaries, for the good of the animals.
I get they see them as pets/family and we wouldn't just give away our cat/dog/hamster but these are domestic animals not the wild creatures they have.
It's scary that these kind of animals can be procured so easily with so little legislation.

purpleme12 · 06/04/2021 22:39

The wild cat (whatever its name was can't remember exactly) and the dog were cute how much they loved each other though!

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 06/04/2021 22:42

I've not watched it yet, but 40 snakes?Shock
Dd has 1 corn snake and is so careful with jim.
The vivarium is locked at all times and their cat is put out of the room when they get the snake out.
He's also v small and harmless.

Yes! Couldn't believe the snakes were in storage boxes?! Wtf. Those poor creatures 🙁

Choccy21 · 07/04/2021 07:10

I’m hoping Born Free can make enough noise to make keeping certain exotic pets illegal.
Also that farmer with the crocodiles was bloody mad.

Whitney168 · 07/04/2021 10:40

The guy with the snakes - as others have said, how can it be humane to keep snakes piled up in storage boxes like that?

I wonder how well his neighbours slept last night ... ?!

Standrewsschool · 07/04/2021 18:04

I couldn’t believe the snakes and the neighbours didn’t seem to know. Ross Kemp looked properly uncomfortable throughout. I hope the RSPCA investigates.

It was a fascinating programme.

icelollycraving · 07/04/2021 22:16

Bloody nuts. The circus one who trained them for tv etc, appeared to have respect for them but also it was clear it was for the money.
The show jumper seemed a nightmare, the facilities looked really not acceptable and I can understand why the local community seemed upset.
The snakes looked terribly kept in storage boxes, shocking. What a life.
The scrap yard couple at least seemed to have a bit of space for them.
