It's just dawned on me that Alina is the female equivalent of Sean, with the way she flounces around.

Jenny McAlpine has clearly got some epic dirt on a Corrie writer and gotten them to play a blinder to turn the tide of public opinion. she’s not a well liked character at all but they’ve managed to completely turn the public opinion around so we are all feeling sorry for her. I still can’t stand her but I do feel sorry for her. It’s shit they’ve done this to Tyrone though.

I think Tyrone is making a huge twat of himself. Alina is way out of his league and I think she's drawn to the safe boringness of him. I can't see her wanting him for long and she will break his heart!

Yes, the house is Tyrone's. I don't recall if Fizz was ever put on the deeds though.

The Fiz/Ty relationship has never been very strong IMO - they’ve spent long periods apart and he had that fling with Gemma. They just sort of settled into being a couple out of convenience, after they’d both had previous high-drama relationships (John Stape and Ruby’s mum, whose name I forget). I feel it would be natural for them to split up at this stage, regardless of whether Ty actually ends up with Alina.

I found tonight's episodes really uncomfortable to watch. Hated the Fizz and Tyrone scenes (although well played) and found the Leanne/Ned/Simon stuff really hard.

Nothing light-hearted or pleasurable in either episode.

No I’ve never disliked Fizz, unlike general consensus on here. My heart broke for her a bit tonight. She played it so well. I don’t want to see him swanning off with Alina now. He needs to lie low a bit. And as has been said, he barely knows her. Poor Fizz must be kicking herself for inviting Alina to stay at their house now. She has made that creepy nanny girl who stayed previously seem like a pushy cat! What’s Ty’s nan going to have to say about it!!

I don't think he inherited it. Jack & Vera sold it to him at a cheaper price as they didn't want to leave it to Terry, their son. So there is a mortgage on it, albeit small.

I don’t get the Fizz hate either, excellent acting from her recently, really think she has tapped in well to how a lot of middle aged mums feel when their husband dumps them for a younger model, her insecurity on how she looks compared to Alina makes me really feel for her. I hope she finds the strength of character to rebuild a successful life and find happiness and I hope Tyrone ends up living in Mary’s long abandoned motor home on the red rek! Where is Evelyn? I’m sure she would have a lot to say on the matter!

Yes, I think that makes sense - they were almost just good friends who came together because they made sense as a family. They were never the couple all the viewers were rooting for. It’s interesting that, given how much soap producers love a wedding, Fiz and Tyrone have remained living together but unmarried for years. Maybe the writers just weren’t that invested in them as a couple.

I thought this storyline was going to be terrible, but despite the fact that I still don’t believe Alina would look at Tyrone twice, it’s actually working on screen - and much of that is down to Jennie McAlpine.

That’s right, @VanGoghsDog - Ruby is Tyrone’s daughter, and Hope is Fiz’s.

I think we might see a resurgence of Hope with a box of matches.......

The thing is, they do act like a couple who have been together forever - as if they’re much older than they are. But they’ve actually been together for only about 8 years I think? And are only late 30’s/40-ish. (Although they had previously been together for a bit, before Tyrone married Molly.) I just don’t think they are right together.
(I do think Fiz is naturally gorgeous actually, she has a beautiful complexion and the most amazing hair.)

Fizz was very kind letting Alina live with them and accepted Ty's nana even though she was initially nothing but rotten to her. She is annoying but don't know why people hate her.

Last night's episode was heart breaking. I've been there many years ago and it really brought back the way being left for someone else absolutely decimates your self-esteem and makes you feel you're just not good enough.

The Leanne, Simon and the drug dealers storyline had been annoying me but got quite tense and exciting last night. Can't see it ending well!!

Alina is just like a whingey teenager, she is getting on my nerves!

I found the Tyrone/Fizz saga tedious. If you pay for a holiday just go especially when she'd already booked the Crete wedding. They might relax away from the Street. Plus it is his house and I'm not convinced he would leave his house or his biological daughter in real life.

I thought that when he left, he would take Ruby with him.
