Where he went to Paris and there was that awful woman who "owned" the restaurant that her dad was paying for. Could not believe how bad her attitude was.

And taking that poor Scottish chef on who moved all the way to Paris and then the restaurant was closed down the next week. I was so happy when Gordon gave her a job.

I saw it too.

I don't know what issues the woman had but she came across as a terribly immature selfish brat. I bet it was her dad's idea to get Gordon Ramsey in too. She just didn't seem to care.

I was glad he gave India a job too!

Nbg · 07/11/2007 14:29

Oh what happened in the end?

I saw it up till when Gordon opened for the lunch time and made soup for 6 euros.

Did Stephanie buck her ideas up?

TigerFeet · 07/11/2007 14:30

I had a feeling that he would offer her a job - he seemed really impressed with her. She didn't get flustered at all in the kitchen did she? The original chef was a joke - a total waste of space - and as for the woman who ran the restaurant, words fail me.

bagpuss · 07/11/2007 14:31

NBG the restaurant closed. I loved the fact that Gordon gave India a job. She was so enthusiastic and must have been gutted after what happened to the restaurant in France.

TigerFeet · 07/11/2007 14:31

Stephanie never came back Nbg

THe restaurant closed in the end, basically the owner (RAchel?) couldn't be arsed

Gordon was gutted I think - it could have been a really good thing if she worked at it properly

Is it the first time a restaurant has closed on this programme?

LilyLoo · 07/11/2007 14:33

hoe funny was the first chef did she not notice he had lost his marbles when she hired him ?
She had obv been nailed out by her dad before. I couldn't beleive at the end when she said i don't need this i am feeling much better since i gave it up all without a thought for her dad who had paid off her loan

Nbg · 07/11/2007 14:33

Oh blimey. That is a real shame because it could have worked.
Lovely little restaurant.

Glad the woman got a job though.

meemar · 07/11/2007 14:33

GR came back and found the restaurant closed down. Apparantly the owner (rachel?) had just let it go to pot.

She turned up for an interview and said closing it had been a 'weight off her mind' (never mind that you owe your dad £50k ), then stormed out when GR called her lazy .

pirategirl · 07/11/2007 14:35

I love this prog, i am not surpprised it shut with that woman, what a waste of space she was, totally spoilt. I'd be mortified if G ramey had done all that for my business and i had to close it.

I missed the end so thanks for filling me in.

That first chef, omg he was funny, absolutely brill tv, and not your run of the mill ending, its a good series isn't it.

MascaraOHara · 07/11/2007 14:35

Rachel came across as a spoilt brat didn't she.. obviously used to daddy bailing her out.

I also thought that it was great Gordon gave India a job.. I imagine she would never have a got a chance like that by 'normal' means. I hope she does well.

numptysmummy · 07/11/2007 14:36

Think Gordon should of bought it and put India in - he kept on about how much he'd love a restaurant in Paris. As for the spoilt bitch who owned it - if she was stressed why not say so,even in private to her dad or Gordon instead of making herself look like a spoilt kid?

Hassled · 07/11/2007 14:37

Well it was great that Gordon took India on, except it was described twice as "work experience" rather than a job. I'm worried about that lovely sweet India - I do hope Gordon's actually paying her!

franke · 07/11/2007 14:38

Well, he gave India "work experience" - hope he made it a permanent post in the end. Either way it would have boosted her CV.

That woman was a ghastly brat, with her pregnant cat and soooo much stress. Her dad had let her get away with it I suppose, although I did feel a bit sorry for him.

puppydavies · 07/11/2007 14:39

am rather alarmed i'm developing a bit of a soft spot for gr (not in that way ) used to think he was arrogant prick but now am warming to him immensely. although i did rofl greatly at him (on a repeat) saying he was 36 wtf?! the years have not been kind.

MascaraOHara · 07/11/2007 14:40

He just wanted his girl to be happy I guess.

I didn't catch the 'work experience' comment

ImportantCod · 07/11/2007 14:41

i bet he gave her work expereience

arf

pirategirl · 07/11/2007 14:49

yeah, 36 !! he could use his face as a plate rack.

pageturner · 07/11/2007 14:50

36?! Wikipedia says he's 41 tomorrow. In fact, I'm quite surprised at 41...

puppydavies · 07/11/2007 14:51

he is (allegedly!) 40 now. it's his birthday tomorrow

happystory · 07/11/2007 14:52

I bet it's not the first time daddy has had to help her... I suspect other problems we didn't hear about

puppydavies · 07/11/2007 14:53

lol pt snap. his 36 comment that had me was on a rerun.

VanillaPumpkin · 07/11/2007 14:53

Even if it was just work experience that is worth its weight in gold on a CV!!
I love GR. I

foxinsocks · 07/11/2007 14:53

oh arrrgh how annoying

I missed the end of this - didn't realise it closed down. But typical of that woman. You could see she'd never done (and didn't want to do) a proper day's work in her life.

VanillaPumpkin · 07/11/2007 14:53

Blimey....posted twice and hadn't even finished what I was saying...
I am going to see him at the Good Food Show and can't wait!!
