I think you're putting a lot more thought into this than the writers, @JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority.

So, Jack had a PC memory stick hidden away that Max found in a nano second. The police are not aware of all this info on the local gangster , but now Max can bully his way into getting the Vic on the back of it. In 24 hours.
I know EE isn't real life , but this is a story line too far even for them :)

The stick is what Jack got off the dodgy policeman who was trying to do Phil by blackmail.... it was all done dusted in half episode and confusing at the time. Eastenders is become like some cult fiction show where you have to be an addict to know what on earth is happening.
