I just found this nice little gem on Netflix. It's got Katherine Heigl. Looks good so far, only watched the first episode. Its got a Virgin River, sweet magnolias feel.

Ooh sounds right up my street thank you!

MoChridhe · 03/02/2021 21:03

Gosh I am tearing up at the end of episode one. Many of us have had such friendships at some point in life, the type who go after the guy they know you are crushing on 😥

I think I will like this

mum2jakie · 06/02/2021 21:25

Not seen the series but the book it is based on is on offer for £2.69 at Amazon currently. Not sure if anyone has read it?

RightOnTheEdge · 07/02/2021 00:30

Oh thank you! I didn't realise this had started. I loved the book!

MoChridhe · 07/02/2021 02:00

Oh thanks for the tip about the book. I didn't know it was book adaptation. Will definitely read when I finish the series.

I had to turn it off after the first episode. I tried, but it wasn't my thing at all.

Bellabluea · 07/02/2021 04:02

Just finished it and sobbed my heart out. It’s definitely left open for another series. I have many questions!!

Maskedcrusader · 07/02/2021 04:04

I didn't think it was going to be my cup of tea. I'm 3 episodes in and really enjoying it.

Violetroselily · 07/02/2021 15:21

I did 6 episodes last night and the remaining 4 this morning Blush

I absolutely loved it

MoChridhe · 07/02/2021 16:08

I've just finished episode 6. Hoping to finish them all today. It is so good.

Sounds good - will definitely give it a watch!

017HF · 07/02/2021 21:30

I read the book fairly recently (enjoyed it despite it not being my normal cup of tea book-wise, albeit not as much as I enjoyed another of Kristin Hannah’s books, The Nightingale) and noticed that Netflix were advertising it as up and coming. Will probably give it a go just to see how it compares!

Florabella · 07/02/2021 21:38

I'm half way through and enjoying it. I said on the other thread that it has a strong feel of the film Beaches to me

Ladybird69 · 08/02/2021 22:44

Watched the whole series last night, couldn’t stop and now I need to see next series asap. I don’t usually like stories that jump back and forward in time but it worked well.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 09/02/2021 01:15

I absolutely hated the last episode. They could have been a little more subtle about, "Give us another season!"

RedPaperLantern · 09/02/2021 04:16

Got about the minutes in before I had to switch off.

Timbucktime · 09/02/2021 10:44

I binge watched it. Really enjoyed it but found the last episode quite ugh.
Was it the reporter husband’s funeral?

Goatscheesewithhoney · 09/02/2021 21:09

@Timbucktime - it was Bud’s funeral

Theimpossiblegirl · 09/02/2021 21:12

I enjoyed it but the ending annoyed me.

RightOnTheEdge · 09/02/2021 21:14

017HF Have you seen The Nightingale is being made into a film?

I don't know where Firefly Lane has ended because I haven't watched it yet so I don't k ow if it has ended the same place as the book.
There is a book sequel so maybe they will make that into the next series.

AliceinBunniland · 09/02/2021 21:17

Warn for spoilers please! Grin

I was going to watch this but just got the audiobook so going to listen to that first

TheJerkStore · 09/02/2021 21:18

It's very different to the book.
I was a bit gutted about that because I really, really loved the book.

AliceinBunniland · 10/02/2021 07:21

I think that's often the case. I haven't seen many tv shows or films that are as good as the book. The book seems quite long but I listened to the first chapter and I think I'll really enjoy it.

Timbucktime · 10/02/2021 08:18
