Can we also talk about Cam's face while the circus has been going on...poor love has looked shooketh!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 26/01/2021 21:27

littlered. Indeed. GrinThat said my old dog would have had more integrity with an unattended plate of sausages left on her bed.

I do like your new name nokingdingalingtits - it is a beautiful thing Grin

I think Jess has always known. katjolo. Ning has plenty to say behind backs or for effect - from the editing...

I don’t think she’d have dared pipe up at Ines or Sam.

I know I’m probably very much in the minority but I felt sorry for Ines there. He didn’t ever promise her anything I know but he really did treat her cruelly there.

And I’ll bet he added another layer to her shell. Hardened with the shine from his smirky teeth.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 26/01/2021 21:33

Ines really is as cold as ice - quite impressive that she shows zero emotion when she's just been dumped from a very huge height by Sam.

She's scarily good at lying.

ihatethecold · 26/01/2021 21:39

Cam’s face was a picture
Talk about disbelief written all over it.

happinessischocolate · 26/01/2021 21:54

How can anyone watch this series and then apply to go on the show ?? The producers just use and abuse people and then spit them out. Is getting instagram followers really worth being treated like a fucking circus freak exhibit.

Trunkysbun · 26/01/2021 22:16

Sam is an arsehole isn't he. He's the personification of 'gaslighting' - blaming Liz for his misdemeanours! Let's not forget he disappeared at the start of the show. Dickhead.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 26/01/2021 22:16

I thought that was a dreadful end to the saga.
None of the experts supported Lizzie or Bronson despite it being perfectly clear neither had any part in the relationship collapses.. Both their partners had made it crystal clear from week one they weren’t interested. The only time Ines and Sam were ever nice to their partners was a faked interest to stay in.

Bronson knew. No way would he have voted leave otherwise.

Cyrell spoilt it by ranting too early. She should have waited until they had dug the hole deeper.

I dud think Ines had a point when she said sweetly she thought it would be different - that she would find love. To be fair to her when you do find love, it is actually all pretty easy and not the ball ache they are living through.. You’d think with three experts and an expensive show they’d match better. First Dates needs to give the ixperts a lesson.

This...but I can't stop watching this kind of crap! I know I'm part of the problem effectively - as long as people like me/us watch it, they'll keep churning it out.
NoKingDingaLingTitsInAbsentia · 26/01/2021 22:41

I really hope there was some support out there for Lizzie and Bronson - not from those 'ixperts' though, I hope they are all better at something else in life otherwise wow, they set themselves a low bar!

Also I don't think it's a spoiler now as such (but be careful if you are off looking up lizzie) she DOES come back in the next season, part of the reason I'm bingeing through this so I can watch S7 and then watch the reunion.

justasmalltownmum · 26/01/2021 22:49

I'm glad that sam and Ines have left. Good riddance.

Teawaster · 26/01/2021 23:46

The whole thing is ridiculous from start to finish . It's totally scripted. Bronson knew what was coming as did Ines and the rest of them. All the surprised faces amongst the others was a set up. The experts watched the dinner party yet had to pretend that they hadn't seen any of the interaction between Sam and Ines. There was no chemistry between Sam and Ines and both knew exactly what was going to happen. It's really awful this series . These experts have not had a single success at matching people in any previous series and they are still regarded as 'experts'

SinisterBumFacedCat · 26/01/2021 23:58

I don’t think Ines is all there, tbh. Very odd so much self belief and will take not a second of criticism for her awful behaviour, I can’t imagine she has any friends in real life.

Sam is a fucking shit but at least he managed to squirm.

JaneJeffer · 27/01/2021 00:23

@NoKingDingaLingTitsInAbsentia thanks for that. I was tempted to skip ahead last night but I like having something to watch every night!

I'm not into having two new couples. It smacks of Big Brother bringing people in to cause chaos. I wish they would show more of the existing couples instead.

Italiangreyhound · 27/01/2021 02:34

If Mike did fancy Jess why would he encourage her to sleep with Mick?

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 27/01/2021 02:42

I don’t think I care for the introduction of two new couples. Why would you do that - if not to cause BB style chaos?

I hope they’ve done a better job of matching the new lot.

JaneJeffer · 27/01/2021 02:44

Maybe that's how he gets his kicks @Italiangreyhound !

TheRogueApostrophe · 27/01/2021 07:00

I don't get why it's a "twist" bringing new couples in. I've no interest in going back to watching weddings and trying to get to know new people.

Italiangreyhound · 27/01/2021 07:57

It's a twist be because it"s never been dive before

Hated the way the ixperts behaved towards Heidi. Mike is a shit. He's interested in Heidi sexually but not interested one jot in her emotionally.
Unfortunately this was the wrong thing for Heidi to get upset over. Yes Mike broke their agreement- but it was an agreement to do something ridiculous: why on earth did Heidi insist on being there to tell Jessika what Mike really said, when she wasn't there to hear it in the first place?
Mike just wants sex. Heidi needs an emotional connection and someone who can talk for hours about their relationship, their emotions, their motivations, their personalities, their psychologies. That is not Mike.
The ixperts simply suggested that she has to put up with whatever shit Mike brings-- and "start afresh every day" . That's given Mike carey blanche to be vile- and she's supposed to forget it an"start fresh" every day. Is this the advice the ixperts give to victims of abuse. Oh you have to get over it live and start fresh every day.

LucyLane · 27/01/2021 08:07
  • carte blanche
mrstea301 · 27/01/2021 08:30

I feel bad for Heidi and Mike, they have a clear physical connection but I just don’t think they’re matched for the long term, Heidi would have been better in that fashion with Dino.

I’m curious to see how it all would have played out if Bronson and lizzie had been matched from the start and Sam/ Ines? I still think Ines is a stone cold sociopath, and probably should have been weeded out in the selection process - she has no emotion towards anyone, even Sam. When he was throwing her under the bus she was just sitting smirking. The best thing about them leaving is that we won’t need to see her horrible little smirking face anymore. I can’t believe that Sam was still trying to claim that he was honest up to the end. Bronson came out of it all with some dignity.

LOVE cyrell- just saying it as it is, but she needs to tone it down a bit so that she’s taken more seriously.

Poor Cam though, all the revelations were blowing his mind! Also loved Melissa digging them up for it all, about how it must have been an “amazing” night then Ines claiming she couldn’t remember what night it was!

Italiangreyhound · 27/01/2021 08:32

Lucy exactly "why on earth did Heidi insist on being there to tell Jessika what Mike really said, when she wasn't there to hear it in the first place?"

Because she doesn't trust him. And her desire to tell jess what Mike said suggests she is willing to manipulate Jess. I think Heidi is showing some of herself and if any man tried to control situations like that he would he collect out on it.

CleanQueen123 · 27/01/2021 08:36

@LucyLane I agree. It's one thing to "start afresh" and move on from your spouse forgetting to take the bins out once but having a blanket rule of each day being a new start is so dangerous.

It did seem to be a bizarre hill for Heidi to die on in this case but Mike is an abusive twat.

Did anyone else clock how his hand was round her neck when they interviewed them afterwards and when they went back to the group? It made me really uncomfortable.

Confusedandshaken · 27/01/2021 08:37

@LucyLane is quite right. The male ixpert in particular was encouraging Heidi not to hold Mike to any standard of behaviour. Whatever he does or says, she should start each day afresh because she has feelings for him. Like Mike he spoke over her and dismissed her feelings. DD and I were open mouthed in shock as he acted exactly like Mike and manipulated her into thinking she was being unreasonable.

The levels of ingrained misogyny shown over and over again on this show make me so grateful I'm not an Australian woman. And it's not just the men. Some of the women seem to expect and accept the men's behaviour They seem to think constantly repeating 'I'm a strong woman' or yelling a bit is assertive.

It seems like such an antiquated way of behaving, like Bridgerton but with thongs, botox and tattoos.

bibliomania · 27/01/2021 08:43

Yes, Clean, I saw that - very alpha male with submissive female.

Not looking forward to new couples. We haven't seen a lot of many couples this year due to having to watch the deeply unsexy "flirting" between Ines and Sam, and I thought we would finally have time for them. I want to see more of Melissa and Dino. I think they're badly matched but an example of trying to be reasonably considerate of each other, which makes a nice change.
