The dogs are really cute inside

OP posts:

Yes. The before and after shots fascinate me. I never knew a poodle looked so doggy when it wasn't groomed.

Mydogisagentleman · 23/01/2021 16:50

I am loving it.
Sheridan Smith not so much

Twospaniels · 23/01/2021 17:55

I’m watching and am loving it.

I have a working cocker spaniel, so slightly different from the show cocker. Poor boy has to put up with me doing home haircuts 🤣

CosmicVagina · 23/01/2021 18:00

Yes although I wish there was more about grooming and technique and less joking.

I like Sheridan, her red suit and feminist t shirt outfit this week was lush

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 28/01/2021 22:14

Me.

Some of the transformations are amazing.

I also think Sheridan is proper ‘dog people’ and comes across lovely, as she does in most things really.

The little legs on the poms 🥰

Ellmau · 28/01/2021 22:18

The dogs are cute, and the breed cuts are fine, but I can't take the creative round seriously. I mean, really????

longtompot · 28/01/2021 22:20

We really like it here. I wasn't so keen on the colouring bit this week, but I do love the before and after shots. I also love to see how the groomers bond with the dogs, some much more than others. I particularly loved the cockers last week, but having one myself, who is not groomed properly at all as she hates it (I need that groomer from Devon, who does the animal sanctuary as well, to groom her I think), it's all a pipe dream for her to have the long silky feathers.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 28/01/2021 22:33

I’m not fond of colouring in dogs. I know it was ok here but I worry about people not using dog friendly products.

I used to have a black lab. She used to change herself into a brunette with mud.

I’ve never had a dog that required serious grooming/reshaping. Just a lot of brushing which used to send the last one straight to sleep.

I’ve still to watch the one from last week. Cockers you say? That will be lovely to see. Smile

I love this programme even though I don't particularly like dogs! Sheridan is a bit annoying, fewer jokes and less on' and she'd be fab.

icelollycraving · 29/01/2021 14:44

Ds and I love it. The poms were adorable😍

TheQueef · 29/01/2021 14:46

Love it.
Perfect entertainment.

harknesswitch · 29/01/2021 14:53

I found this last night. My dd loves it. I felt a bit uneasy about the poor dogs being 'made up' and 'dressed up' but they seemed to enjoy it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/01/2021 18:39

I found this programme yesterday and have to admit thatI enjoyed it - like other posters I would like to see more on the techniques of grooming, but I love seeing the dogs.

I particularly liked the animal sanctuary lady - I honestly thought she would be through to the next round, though I knew it would be tight with the greek lad who did go through.

I'm not keen on silly cuts and fancy colours for dogs TBH, but for the purposes of the programme I can see why they have chosen too do them. Apparently the owners are offered the opportunity to have the dog's haircut re-done if they aren't happy with it, but very few of them do.

The lady judge - Verity - seems to wear very clumpy shoes; I wondered if she had a problem with her feet. Does anyone know? (I'm just being a nosey bat - it's just she always wears very pretty dresses, so it seems to me that it's a bit incongruous to pair them with heavy trainer-type shoes.

I've got working spaniels and don't clip them - I just brush them out so they have their full coats - but in my heart of hearts I'm a terrier girl, so I loved the yorkie and the beddie, and was a bit disappointed that there was no westie on the programme (yet!).

I also love poodles (not doodles, though I have nothing against them - proper poodles) and am trying to persuade Mr Schaden that we need another dog (yorker, westie or poodle); something that needs a haircut, anyway - I have a set of clippers that cost me over £200 (and that was 20 years ago - god knows what the equivalent would be now) that aren't getting used since we lost our last westie 5 years ago.

Purplestorm83 · 29/01/2021 23:13

My 5 year old daughter is obsessed with this show! She loves dogs (even though I am phobic) and wants to be a vet. I actually like Sheridan on this too.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/01/2021 09:01

I like Sheridan, too Purple. I didn't think I would, but I do.

icelollycraving · 30/01/2021 11:48

I like Sheridan.

Ellmau · 30/01/2021 13:50

Sheridan is good in this. I like her dog too ;)

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 24/02/2021 00:59

Love this show and Sheridan

Hotelhelp · 24/02/2021 01:18

We’ve really enjoyed watching this with the kids.

@SchadenfreudePersonified your post made me smile. I’ve not noticed the shoes but it’s very much a thing to wear a pretty, feminine dress with a pair of chunky, white trainers. I’ll keep my eyes peeled this week to see what she has on her feet.

Some of SS’s clothes are a bit out there Grin

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 24/02/2021 01:37

I’m only up to episode 4 those Pomeranians were adorable and one really did look like Bungle! It’s made me appreciate what a skill being a dog groomer is, all the breed standard cuts they have to master plus all the intricate cuts like the spiral, all with a fidgety dog, hats off to the groomers.

HildegardNightingale · 27/02/2021 15:00

Absolutely loved the Welsh terriers. So adorable.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/02/2021 21:57

Ah!

I didn't know that Hotel (I am old. . . Grin }

Shows how far behind the times I am.

Fuss · 27/02/2021 23:21

Very unfair this week I thought giving two of the groomers breeds that had actually bred and shown in the past so obviously could groom to show standard with their eyes shut.
Hardly a surprise when they went through.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/02/2021 08:07

I was very sorry to lose Mich - she had consistently provided superb grooming results on breeds she hadn't worked with before.

However, on a different note entirely, I now want a standard poodle . . .

HighlandCowbag · 28/02/2021 08:11

Love this show and was sorry to see Mitch go, thought her camel was fab!

I also now want a standard poodle as my next dog, they are fabulous aren't they!
