I found this programme yesterday and have to admit thatI enjoyed it - like other posters I would like to see more on the techniques of grooming, but I love seeing the dogs.
I particularly liked the animal sanctuary lady - I honestly thought she would be through to the next round, though I knew it would be tight with the greek lad who did go through.
I'm not keen on silly cuts and fancy colours for dogs TBH, but for the purposes of the programme I can see why they have chosen too do them. Apparently the owners are offered the opportunity to have the dog's haircut re-done if they aren't happy with it, but very few of them do.
The lady judge - Verity - seems to wear very clumpy shoes; I wondered if she had a problem with her feet. Does anyone know? (I'm just being a nosey bat - it's just she always wears very pretty dresses, so it seems to me that it's a bit incongruous to pair them with heavy trainer-type shoes.
I've got working spaniels and don't clip them - I just brush them out so they have their full coats - but in my heart of hearts I'm a terrier girl, so I loved the yorkie and the beddie, and was a bit disappointed that there was no westie on the programme (yet!).
I also love poodles (not doodles, though I have nothing against them - proper poodles) and am trying to persuade Mr Schaden that we need another dog (yorker, westie or poodle); something that needs a haircut, anyway - I have a set of clippers that cost me over £200 (and that was 20 years ago - god knows what the equivalent would be now) that aren't getting used since we lost our last westie 5 years ago.
