Moving to a new house should have been a dream come true for Alice (keesley hawks) and Harry (Jason Merrells) and their daughter Charlotte

But turns into a nightmare when Alice finds Harry at the bottom of the stairs dead

And turns out harry has secrets ........

@youngestisapsycho

Why is everyone assuming/saying he fell down the stairs.... he was found on the floor in the hallway... doesn't prove he fell down the stairs?
I don't think he was in the right position to have landed there after falling down stairs like that. I am no expert but I would have thought he would be more crumpled up at the foot or by the side of them rather than neatly laying a short distance away.

Why was there no noise too? Whatever happened, there would have been scuffling or thudding or a shout.

The moral of this drama will be to not design a home with stairs without a bannister.
As well as being illegal, it's also life threatening.
(If this is what happened of course. )
If they had moved into a ' smart bungalow' he may well be alive still. Or just had a safe stair lift fitted.
How did the toilet flush in the end?
Will we ever know?

JaneJeffer · 18/01/2021 16:39

It's going to be like the Simpson's episode where the smart house (Pierce Brosnan) fell in love with Marge and killed Homer Grin

derxa · 18/01/2021 16:43

I didn't mean that in a nasty way just that you know how accurate or otherwise our guesses are. Sorry I didn't mean to sound snippy Blush

ScrambledSmegs · 18/01/2021 17:12

What I want to know is, because presumably I looked away at the crucial moment, where was the bloody fridge?

@ScrambledSmegs

There was a sort of panelled curved secret cupboard that opened when the daughter leaned on it. There was a fairly normal looking fridge inside.
JaneJeffer · 18/01/2021 17:15

It was behind some wood panelling which opened as the daughter who was sitting on the floor leaning against it got up.

Forestdweller11 · 18/01/2021 17:17

Don't think this is a spoiler. The fridge was in the wood clad wall opposite the island. Daughter was sat in floor and as she stands up it pops open.

Embracelife · 18/01/2021 17:35

The daughter found a fertility clinic letter i thought it was money for sperm donation? So there could be lots of sons and daughters popping up?
Also we dont know if charlotte is theur child or just of alice she always says "my daughter"

ScrambledSmegs · 18/01/2021 18:33

Thank you for the fridge location! I can rest easy now Grin.

SoupDragon · 18/01/2021 18:35

I think they have referred to Harry as Charlotte's dad too.

The letter was for a sperm storage plan. Which is a bit of an odd thing to have isn't it?

SoupDragon · 18/01/2021 18:36

(Assuming no fertility issues etc)

SophieB100 · 18/01/2021 20:59

It wasn't what I expected at all, too early to judge it, will give it another episode.
Keely Hawes will always be Lesley Denton. She just seems off in this.

I usually enjoy comedy/drama - but Cold Feet quality (first couple of series) this isn't.

Yes. It's an odd thing to have if there is no reason for it.

Frequentflier · 19/01/2021 11:47

Is it just me who finds Alice both deeply unlikeable and completely incompetent? Feel sorry for Charlotte who is the real mom?

Also think the series hasn't decided what it wants to be: comedy, drama, thriller... what is it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2021 13:00

She does seem a little dappy not knowing anything

But

Don’t forget she’s just lost her loved life partner (not married ) abs getting to grips to that.

And no money

And losing house

Thi where did they live before

There is a spoiler thread on telly addicts.
Twospaniels · 19/01/2021 20:36

No one on here has asked who G is?
The first time the phone (which is presumably Harry’s) rang, a picture flashed up of a blonde woman, but Alice didn’t see the picture as she put the phone down as she was driving out of the driveway.
The next time it rang the caller wouldn’t reply.

I think if you donate sperm the children created have no rights to inherit from the donor.
