does anyone watch stargate?

Totally agree with Yingers - it is getting good. Nice touch with the present day Apollo meeting the actor who played the later day Apollo.

caught some Hex and some Carnival last night, What's the fuss about? then again didn't see from episode 1

Carnival is good - but is a really slow starter - lots of twists and turns. It is so complicated that I had to look at the HBO episode guide to check that I had the story right!! I think that it is one of those shows which will come into its own in the second series - this series is really building the characters and setting the stage so to speak.

Carnival - have also given up on it as it is so slow going although I did find it incredibly interesting, I plan to let a couple of weeks go by, read the episode summaries and if something has actually happened will start watching again!!! No. What we think at the moment (and this could be a twist) is that the priest is evil and the boy is good. The priest has the power to see what evil people have done - and uses this for his own gain. The priests sister has always known that her brother is evil.

The boy has the power to save a life and to heal - but this has the dark side that to bring one thing to life he has to kill something else.

Scudder is always refered to. He is the boys father and used to travel with the carnivale. He also had the powers. Now the 'management' want to track scudder down (for some unknown reason at the moment) and I think intend to use the boy as bate.

The boy is having dreams in where he sees Scudder, the priest and himself in different situations. This is how the priest and the boy are linked. I think that in the next series the priest will realise about the boy (perhaps he is the one who will stop the priest?) and that he will also be drawn towards finding scudder.

So although the two storylines (the priest and the boy) see separate - they will be drawn together.

Anything else you need to know? (I have really swatted up because this lost me too so I read the episode guides!!) The HBO site has good explanations too. The next series is set to be better.

Oh, i thought the priest and boy would be on the same side. I guess the priest has always tried to fight his evil side by trying to be good! i agree the second series will be better.

And what do you think of dr weir in sg atlantis? I don't like her very much, I don't think she is a sympathetic character, she seems to have her favourites who she always listens to and then disregards everyone else. She is no katherine Janeway! The funny thing is that i saw an interview with the actress who described her character as a hippie type leader?!!!! I hate to say this but I hope her character meets her demise and someone else takes over! Am I being too hard on her?

I totally agree with you Yingers. There are a few SG Atlantis characters that I think are a bit annoying. You find it hard relating or liking them.
I think that the good thing about it is the seasons baddies are really scary!

I finally managed to watch an episode of Stargate Atlantis... that lead woman, can't think of her name... oh boy is she dreadful and wodden! Well hopefully it will improve
