I've only ever bought carbonara already done ( I hate cooking) so I don't know about the onions but I have made spag bol sauce with onions.
It seemed a lot of trouble to go to , but then I would stick to the tea poisoning and maybe cook something a bit easier. She should have gone for the trout! Fish poisoning can be lethal.
Overthinking it all as usual.
