I recently read a brilliant book "Other Minds" which was very much based on the intelligence of the octopus - intellectually they are the border collies of the ocean floor.

Alon intrigues me. All the time.

There’s a video I saw where a little octopus had adopted a plastic cup as its home, so a diver was offering it different shells to use instead. It was quite poignant

It is the most fantastic cinemotography... true story, a guy who literally makes friends with an octopus!
Interesting on the intelligence, doesn't surprise me after seeing this film.

Adam's octopus detail looks incredible. But the other guy is an engineer- so maybe his water flow will be better. The wolf is lovely and clever to have thought about a strong structure.

I've seen another that, Sunbird.

And another where a diver went to the same part of a reef every day, and a small octopus tentatively made friends with him. First it was watching him, and then a tentative tentacle came out and explored his hand, and over time they really got to know each other and it recognised him. It was lovely.

(And of course, there was Paul, the Predicting Octopus, who still contacts those of us who watch Strictly, via an underwater ouija board. Oddly, he hasn't been quite so accurate since he passed to the Other Side - you'd think he'd have been even better)
