I’m not sure about the virgin one, on the face of it he’s sweet but I think it’ll be exhausting for her to be building him up and reassuring him all the time. I feel like it’ll be a lot of give from her that he won’t be capable of giving back.

Sorry for my confusion, Sean/Susan/Aleni/Simon/Jesse/Michelle & Sharon (twins) /Nick and Cheryl etc are season 4, September 2016.

Sarah and Telv, Dean, Tracey and Davina etc was Season 5, January 2018.

I agree about the pressure! Also.... has he not seen previous series? 😂 Does he not realise the odds of it working out long term are not great based on the track record!

I do like him but I find it somehow unbelievable that if he is as he is being presented that he would apply to be on this show....

Jules and Cam - I have high hopes but as per previous comment hope it's not an early crash and burn like we've seen before. The conversation about children seemed a bit awkward and I wasn't convinced he actually did want children.

There is absolutely nothing redeeming about insta-jess. I don't think there was anything wrong with his question as such, and it was pretty telling that she couldn't even fake an answer about finding her soul mate. Has she not seen the programme? Does she not know to get people on side and further her followers/career it helps to be a bit likeable?

Is Ning's (now to be known as NMC-Ning....I dislike a paralysed face) did a poor job of veiling her horror with humour, she was downright rude. I am expecting lots of whining about missing her kids (agree with others, not sure anyone should be bringing under 16s to this show). Plus she mentioned finding herself a couple of times, chicken this is NOT the way to find yourself! She's just going along with this for a bit of a journey judging from the 'pash' in the pool.

"MAFSA seems to just throw the candidates photos up and see where they land, and hope it works." My theory really icelollycraving is that they choose the most interesting diverse people they can find and then try and match those from within the selected people. I don't really think they do that but I think that is how it appears!

If having a dark haired woman was important to Sam, why did they not match him with a dark haired women who has asked for a mustle-tats-dark-hairded man! There must have been a few 20 something ladies asking for that!!

One thing I have noticed about 'First Dates' on channel 4 is that they always get people quite local! they also always seem to tick each othersboxes looks wise!

Yes, I felt that. But at the start he was very much saying yes to kids I thought!

The ones who obviously are only their for the likes - they pair with someone who is a bad match on purpose. So the resulting fireworks make good tv.

So definitely Jess and farmer - and Sam and Lizzie

Telv and Sarah were my dead cert but that seemed to end pretty badly.
Really hoping Cam and Jules go the distance! And Heidi finds someone she deserves.

I looked it up, and the number of couples still together from season one to five is.... one! Erin and Bryce from season 2. Didn't watch that one but good for them.

Dunno how they can be ixperts with that kind of fail rate.

Ha ha, kwiksavenofrillsusername just seen you replied! Erin and Bryce, yes. That couple I really did not think would go the distance. I remember watching it a few years ago.

I agree that on First Dates it's surprising how often they seem to match people who, on paper at least, are right for each other. On this, their decisions often seem bonkers, even contrary. And then the ixperts have the nerve to say they were matched due to science! Bet it's just the bloody producers...

I'm also SO GLAD that this is on right now, just like the first lockdown, it gives me something to look forward every day and great escapism. And of course the great chat on here with you lovely lot!

They should have put Sam and Jess together, then they could have pissed each other off trying to outdo each other and would have stayed the whole series just for the exposure 🤷‍♀️

Proves my point then that be the “29 yr old virgin” is not being entirely sensible to say it would ‘break him’ or devastate him (or whatever words he used) if this doesn’t work out. Surely in reality you’d be pragmatic and hope for the best but know that it’s a long shot! At least I suppose that even if things don’t work out on the show... at least he either won’t be a virgin anymore, or won’t have to have that potentially awkward chat with any future girlfriends since they’ll already know 🤷‍♀️

But I don't think they'd be a good match I just think it would stop them wasting anyone else time. 😁 they're both there for the exposure, just let them get on with posting pouty selfies together. Plus they both think they're soo great that it would be fun to see them cope with someone else as superficial as they are.

I must admit Jess is one of my favourites I think she 's not all superficial but thus programme has taught me I am a terrible judge of character!!! I liked Davina in season 5!!!!
