Death in Paradise theory’s! !!!richards return!!!

Death in Paradise!
My and DDs (12) fave!

Anyone else followed it.
Recently Ben Miller was in a interview and said that he was returning death Saint Marie to play his own character Richard Poole.

Has any one got any theories on how he could comeback. I have mine, but want to hear yours first!!!

Love these. Though he did mention that it was HIM coming back ALIVE and not a twin and he is not coming back a zombie.

At the start of series 3 of Death in Paradise, Richard Poole (played by Ben Miller) was murdered by an ice pick through his heart. This happened when he was at a university reunion with friends.
Recently Ben Miller revealed that he was coming back to the show as his own character Richard Poole. Not as a zombie and not as his own twin.
So if he is not coming back just in a flashback, then here is my most logical explanation! (MOST LOGICAL does not mean it IS logical!!!)

So if ‘Richard Poole’ is returning to Death in Paradise for series 10, then it could not have been ‘Richard Poole’ that died in series 3. Buuutttt… it must have someone with a great resemblance as him. So he rung up his twin and said (sorry but need to say it like this 😂) “hey up bro! Haw ya doin??? Right imma got a uni reunion! Will ya come over and do it for me???” (His brother says “yes”)
“Cheers fam!!! Sees ya soon bro!!!” So his brother goes to the party instead of him which would explain why he discluded himself from all the others (well you never know with Richard do you!) His brother got stabbed to which he went back England with his brothers passport (he wouldn’t use his own as it would come up in record that he was dead) to go back home into mourning. Seven years later, he make a new appearance explains to everyone what happened and they all love him again.

Or another is that if Camille becouse coming back, is that she is hallucinating and seeing him??? Or she may think something like “what would Richard do in this situation???”

DD and I watched every episode on iPlayer during lockdown - then ended up watching 'our favourites' ie most of them again Grin. We really liked Richard's character- would love to see some flashback episodes. They should never have killed him off - he was so desperate to return to London they could have written him out that way, then he genuinely could be written back in for a visit.

YES!!! We watched them in lockdown too. He did want to go back so it would not be hard to bring him back!

I watched up to series 8 on Netflix but found that I could predict exactly what was going to happen and who the murderer was going to be as the format is the same every time!
Still enjoyed it though.
I'm sure the story will probably be linked to something that happened when he was alive rather than him actually coming back in the present.

Of course you can often predict who has done it and it is very formulaic but it is gentle escapism with good humour. I love ' Dwayne Mayers' and how he knows all the dodgy people to go to and how the Commissioner has so little to do!!
I don't always want heavy dramas so it is perfect for me when I want to relax and snuggle up for a bit!
