Anyone else followed it.
Recently Ben Miller was in a interview and said that he was returning death Saint Marie to play his own character Richard Poole.

Has any one got any theories on how he could comeback. I have mine, but want to hear yours first!!!

I really like Ralph Little in this. What lovely comforting telly and all covid free.

I like him too and more scenery and locations this time

He put the body in the sauna, Phoebe to disguise the time of death. The woman seen by the runner was his daughter.

I also like Ralf Little in this. I think his character will actually see some growth rather than remain the same.

I mentioned the theme tune as well.

Ralf Littles allergies were annoying, so hopefully the cat story will eradicate that. However, he’s a good fit for the role.

I actually liked Ruby. She was annoying initially, and then she settled into the role. Although the chief being the officer worked okay yesterday, I’m not sure it would work every week. What happened to the other female police officer?

I guessed the end wrong. I thought the interview between the main two characters would be pre-recorded, and he popped out then to commit the murder.

Not a fan of the new theme tune, why change something that fits perfectly ?
But loving Ralph - I’ve had a little crush on him since 2 Pints 😉

Isn't it the same theme tune, but just played differently? I did prefer the old one though.

Ralf little is a bit irritating but he’s returned the character to the original premise of being uncomfortable in the Caribbean. I think he’ll grow on me. Humph and Ardal both liked it too much there. The whole point is that the main character does not think it is “paradise”.

I‘d rather they finally ditched ditched the shirt and jacket for the D.I., every one of the four has followed the same dress code to some extent. Might have been amusing once as a contrast to the residents but surely one of them might have progressed to a short-sleeved shirt.

I was hopeful when Castell turned up in trousers that we had moved into 2021 with the senior female attire but no, there she was again in her little shorts (although not as skimpy as the ones worn by Camille).

Ruby grew on me too but it took a while. Funny how so many of them have left for Paris, do the flights only go to France or UK?

I am assuming Ben Miller will be in a flashback or ghostly scene, as I assume they did a post morgen at the time and there were a lot of witnesses. Or is it a twin story?!

It's a French Caribbean island, with some British historical connection going on aswell, it would seem, so that accounts for the close ties to the French and British police forces.

They have toned down the theme tune, made it less jolly which I think was a shame. Maybe it will grow on me.
I was also a little irritated they seem to have reset the character of Neville Parker back to when we first met him last series. I suppose they did this so that Florence will be the catalyst for his change.

In real life though, all those allergies wouldn't miraculously disappear, so it wouldn't ring true if they never referred to them again.

I don't like how the Commissioner treats Neville so far - with the others he was irritated by them at times, but went out of his way to make sure they stayed. But he makes it really obvious he wants rid of Neville - I hope they tone that down as he settles in more.

I think Richard and Camille will come back as a couple after secretly being undercover for which he had to fake his death.

There is one episode where they explain the history of the island - can’t recall the details but it’s switched between British and French ‘ownership’ over the last 50 or so years, hence the ties with both those countries.

Just found out that Richard is coming back as a cameo!!! I’m angry 😡

Not really liking Neville. He’s my least favourite inspector so far. Ruby in Paris? Can’t see it tbh.

I’d so want to see Richard back.

Neville is a bit dull and charmless.
At least Ardal had the narrative of coming to terms with widowhood. Plus there was no risk of romance with the young woman detective.
