So after many ppl (on twitter) were arguing that Jamie deserved his place in the final because he was an all-rounder and could bo both Latin and ballroom, in the final he has to do ... neither. Really doesn't seem right.

He and Bill are redoing their couples choice, which was essentially a showdance this year. Bill at least is doing a quickstep. Only Hrvy and Maisie are doing ballroom and Latin.

The producers should have limited the choices to Latin and ballroom full stop. If not, why not just turn Strictly Come Dancing into the celebrity version of Stictly Dance Fever?

Thnaks munchbunch. I'm quite happy with most of the dances (loved B&O's Couple's Choice and quickstep, Maisie's quickstep, Jamie and Karen's Couple's Choice and Charleston.) Have completely forgotten Harvey's jive; can't recall anything about it at all

Am trepidatious about B&O's showdance; Queen songs just sound ridiculous IMO in any context other than just being sung by Freddie M. No one can really dance to them. I guess they're trying to appeal to the mood of the nation though.
I do love the choice of I'm Still Standing by Jamie and Karen Good on them.

Sigh. Think I will be leaving the room a lot.. Wish they had barred CC. Expect all 3 of Jamie's dances to be exactly the same: a lot of bounding about and no actual dance steps to critique. Why did the judges want to make us rewatch that cringy Charleston?

The judges probably don't have a lot of say in it ~ I suspect the producers steer with a very heavy hand as far as selection of the dances for the final goes.

I think he did that in the first week ~ it was pretty good for a Week 1 dance, from what I vaguely remember of it.

Yes, of course you are right. It is the producers who want that dance back. I also think Oti and Bill had better dances to improve on than the quickstep. I did like Maisie's samba and Harvey's jive; both were Week 1.

Motsi wasn't there when professional west end performer Danny Mac danced though.

No, but she still should have done her homework before making hyperbolic, desk-banging proclamations.

Though 'Best first dance ever out of the two first shows of Strictly I've been present at as a judge' is damning with faint praise somewhat [not to mention arguably incorrect].

Every word of this is the stone-cold truth.

I know they're trying to up the 'feel good' factor because it's been a crappy year, but the dances this series have been consistently unspectacular.

I think Len's best off out of it (although I miss him too). He used to hate all the props and fannying about before the dance and that's got considerably worse lately.

Yes to say Maisie’s dance would go down in SCD history I don’t think so! Loads of better dances in SCD history than that!
