I missed the bit where Carla shagged Adam. How the heck did that come about?

TellingBone · 11/12/2020 23:55

I'm thinking Gary, solely based on the fact that he's got to face a comeuppance for killing that other fella at some point. Two in one, job's a good 'un.

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/12/2020 00:13

@Queenoftheashes

I also think Simon. Sarah wouldn’t do that and they tried to make her all shifty so too obvious. Peter far too drunk to be that quiet. Gary again too obvious and surely not wanting to add to his body count. Not sure why Ray would bother. Simon is immature enough and has history of thuggery and violence.
You're assuming that the writers actually know and give a damn about the characters' personalities and histories.

The writers are now seemingly paid-by-the-word jobsters.

It's awful.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 12/12/2020 07:03

Sarah just happening to walk into the scene by coincidence is just about funny !

Is Gary with Marie - urgh still ?

Has it really taken them this long to pair Tyrone's Granny with Roy ? That story line has been staring them in the face for about a year.

Good to have a break from Fizz , Hawp and the other one.

Rita standing on the street giving her support for not demolishing the brewery (that was once the, 'Graffiti Club' owned by Mike Baldwin any oldies remember that ?)

Quite obviously on her own shouting into thin air then her scene was edited in. Even I could see that !

Dev has reverted to awful. What a shame. He went through a phase of speaking and acting normally.

Roussette · 12/12/2020 07:36

But why was Adam knifed? Surely not just for getting his leg over with Carla?
How can Geoff walk around with what he's done and no one bothers, yet one bloke gets it on with a woman on the street and there's a murder scene?
Why Simon?

Queenoftheashes · 12/12/2020 07:54

@JamieLeeCurtains you’re right of course. Sigh.

SophieB100 · 12/12/2020 07:56

@ToffeeNotCoffee

Yeah, I remember Baldwin and the Graffiti Club! Hell, I remember the first Tracey, always off upstairs whilst her permed haired mum steamed up her specs with mucky Mike!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2020 08:57

@Honeyroar

Yes you’re right, it probably was Simon. That would be sad.

That disappearing fire was the best trick Geoff ever did! If you lit lighter fluid poured in a house with modern carpet and settees it would go up like a furnace.

Damn right it would - all those soft furnishing and books etc.

Have you ever seen the demonstration fire rooms they show occasionally. It takes less than a minute fr a fire to get a firm hold - in two minutes the entire room is an inferno and if doors are open it is through the rest of the house. Within those two minutes it would have been burning through and up the stairs. The heat would be using blistering and paint on doors would have burst into flame. Fire spreads with terrifying rapidity, even without an accelerant. (Also - Geoff had splashed the stuff all over himself - he would have been ablaze as he ran after Yasmeen. I wouldn't have minded him dying like that.)

No-one would have been able to get up the stairs after Yasmeen and Geoff - they entire house would have been visibly aflame from the street. Geoff and Yasmeen would have been trapped up there - Alya couldn't have got there at all. Red hot choking smoke would have been blinding and suffocating them.

That''s why you

Get everyone out

Get out

Get the fire brigade out

And don't attempt to tackle a blaze on your own.

Clawdy · 12/12/2020 09:16

I was hoping Geoff would accidentally drop the lighter and set fire to himself and become a writhing shrieking fireball in front of Yasmeen!

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 12/12/2020 09:25

Has the fire been mentioned by any of them?
Just wondering if they're going to say when Yasmeen mentions it that there was no fire and make out like she imagined the whole thing, hopefully not to discredit her story and send her back to jail!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2020 09:26

We're a vindictive pair, aren't we Clawdy? Grin

It would have served the bugger right!

PuffyChuff · 12/12/2020 09:26

The writers are just taking the piss now
Abbie doing that silly dance & kicking the air, seriously?
Why would Aliyah leave Yasmeen to take the photo of Geoff to the police when she could send them from her phone?
The whole fire thing
The Ray /Hotel shit
The dentist waiting room comment, why?
Oh God I'm now making a list in my head......... aaaargh

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/12/2020 09:55

God yes that fire scene was really irresponsible, @SchadenfreudePersonified, when you explain it like that. People should never run into a fire or be encouraged to run into a burning building.

@Queenoftheashes, it makes me sad it's so rubbish now that the characters are all over the place 🙁

eddiemairswife · 12/12/2020 10:32

Why does Abi have to jump up and down like a 4 year-old when she's excited?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2020 10:32

This is a kitchen fire.

No accelerante. All hard surfaces. No soft furnishings. And don't forget smoke is a killer, too. It's burning hot and it is toxic.

And a casually discarded hairdryer

There are a few of these online - I'm frightening the bliddy life out of myself now! Shock

Honeyroar · 12/12/2020 10:36

We have a bonfire every year, we generally get given a settee or two to put on. Even the so called fire retardant ones turn into an inferno in seconds. It’s quite sobering. And a modern house like Yasmeen’s would only be thin plasterboard walls. The whole house would’ve been gutted in no time.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2020 10:37

People should never run into a fire or be encouraged to run into a burning building.

Absolutely! But I think most of us would still risk it if someone we loved was in there, though. It's human nature.

It's the people who go back in for things - eg their wallet, jewellery etc that I can't understand You can replace a necklace - you can't replace a life

bloodyhairy · 12/12/2020 10:52

The roof situation was ridiculous!

And is it just me who thinks that Cathy comes across as slightly unhinged?!

crunchypeanutbutterontoast · 12/12/2020 11:01

I think the stabbing is as simple as Gary needing to stop Adam from dobbing him into the police for Rick’s murder. Also with Geoff out the picture, there is a baddie vacancy - oh hello Gary Windass..

Starbonnet123 · 12/12/2020 11:03

@Smallsteps88 your comment made me laugh out loud , trouble is I'm in the hairdressers and I had to explain what I was laughing about 😂

Smallsteps88 · 12/12/2020 11:04

Yes I think Gary too.

Only Sarah and Gary knew Adam would be in the bistro. Simon wouldn’t have known he was there. Not Peter. And Peter would never have managed to get in there quietly, he was very drunk. Sarah wouldn’t want Adam dead. Gary has real motive to want him dead.

MsMiaWallace · 12/12/2020 11:05

Be careful burning sofas. Your not really supposed to lol!

Smallsteps88 · 12/12/2020 11:05

Grin which comment?

BillyGroatsChuff · 12/12/2020 11:26

I'm guessing the scriptwriters are WFH and drinking while they do it?!?!

Crazy storylines and so unbelievable. Aaliyah on the roof, no fire damage in the petrol covered house, I'm pretty sure yasmeen would have been arrested after just been banged up for attempted murder and it's like everyone has forgot a three year old died just last week? Apart from Simon, reckon he's struggling and that will be his excuse for smacking the beautiful but naughty Adam over the head!
And as if Ray would just leave him in there with keys.

Cathy dancing a jig over dead Geoff was weird as well.

Roussette · 12/12/2020 12:11

I thought it was a knife the perpetrator (watching too much american cop shows) was carrying, not a blunt instrument?
